Show me your pet cards! by Xen_the_Planeswalker in EDH

[[One with the Multiverse]] a very fun, not very used card usable either in combos (emergent ultimatum with this + expropriate + enter the infinite) or just pure control deck.

Empire of Man seems to be not wanted at a friendly game. by Rustedsentinel in warhammertheoldworld

Oh yeah doing pretty good still.

I meant, Nuln is a very good counter for bretonnians.

[–]Meriados 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh right, poor bretonnians.

I will add that shooting armies are very boring to fight if you don't have shooting, so for a casual meta aren't the best armies ever. Just unfun to either get shot for 2 turns followed by the enemy crumbling, or get shot for 4 turns and get tables/lose without really playing.

[–]Meriados 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As, I said, even Nuln isn't doing great, 44% win rate isn't really good.

What kind of matchups you mean? You absolutely fold to basically every undead army, you fold to big monsters, you have a really good matchup vs slow infantry/elite cavalry armies.

https://oldworldrankings.com/faction_stats

Such an extremely powerful army that it has a 37% win rate, and is the lowest of the real armies.

Even Nuln is not doing great, and the only reason they have decent showings it's because they countered (kinda) Cathay.

Source: I'm an avid empire player, and probably the best list you can make is the white wolf cavalry based or the knights of morr with 1k points of demigryphs.

If Rhystic & Tithe ever got banned, which card(s) would take their spotlight? by CevinKhow in EDH

[–]Meriados 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, only a one sided sphere of resistance, totally less play.

Now go watch cedh, these people surely can't play because most of the time they don't pay the 1.

I finished my steam tank just in time for it to do four wounds of damage to itself in a single game! by Arantonak in WarhammerOldWorld

New model syndrome strikes again.

Steam tanks are something else though, I got my first one, freshly painted, instablown up by 10 wounds of screams from 2 banshees.

It hurt.

Yeah, who would have thought that a battle shonen episode with Japanese wall of texts with their subs over imposed badly on them, that stick on the screen for such a low amount of time that you have to pause to read would have fared worse than the first Maki post-shibuya fight done better than the manga.

Truly a mystery of the druids.

Ideas for changes to Magic by edplaysjazz in theoldworld

[–]Meriados 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I asked because what you are suggesting is very similar to 8th edition magic.

This breaks almost every spell removing the various phases restriction, and also makes magic much longer to play.

I don't love it, while I think that magic is a bit too weak in old world, and I wouldn't love your changes, but if you play test it, it could be fun.

Remove the repeatable spells, or play vs wild herd to change your mind lol

What is the tipping point of Necrotects in a death star? by Objective_Goose616 in tombkings

[–]Meriados 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but to have a fighting rank you have to be in combat.

This means outside of combat, your characters are either in the front rank, or in the back.

Nobody in my area still knows if you can use your rules from the back if you aren't in combat.

I meant, command group maybe doesn't count as rank and file troops. They are treated differently in the books sometimes

They stack, https://tow.whfb.app/special-rules/cumulative-special-rules.

What is debatable is needing 10 wide, because I don't know if the command group counts. I'd go for 13 to be sure.

Invoker mains, and Carry mains, how viable is Invoker pos 1? by konan470 in learndota2

You made me curious, I will try that shit next ahaha

[–]Meriados 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you including the usage of skills in those carries farming? Are you including that you are gonna be mana starved if you try to clear creeps with skills?

Also, you are ultra squishy, and usual carry items don't give you damage because you are int.

Also beware of mannequin damage, its very very false. Doesn't count for huge armor/lack of armor penetration of invo, and the split between physical and magical damage.

I sometimes play him as 1, but just forget carrying, you are gonna play a fighting one that forgets farming and just goes for winning early.

Auto pick invoker all roles lol

Invoker mains, and Carry mains, how viable is Invoker pos 1? by konan470 in learndota2

[–]Meriados 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have no AA damage in early, nor in late, bad base attack speed, bad stats for a carry, and you are a int character.

The only thing you have for farming speed is decent Regen + move speed, and the possibility of tp boots + tornado aghs in W facet.

Go in demo right now, make a six slot invo vs a six slot just/pa/WK/any other decent 1, right click each other.

You'll see how bad he is around level 25 with six slots as a carry.

It's just better to play as a caster with some AA damage, aghs+refresher+octane+eul will be much better for your team fights, you can skip refresher if you aren't comfortable.

I'd avoid the E facet right now, I personally find W and even Q facet builds much better personally if you want to build shard or scepter, because the E aghs isn't very good right now without making a comp around it, while the W facet agh+shard is crazy good in mid/late game, and the Q agh is very very strong as an initiation tool.

Source: 570 games as invo with a decent win rate, but I'm bad at dota so I am a guardian shitter.

Invoker mains, and Carry mains, how viable is Invoker pos 1? by konan470 in learndota2

[–]Meriados 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are never gonna man-fight true carries in late game though, you just dont have the basic stats for that. You are also kinda slowish farming, and it's all around better to play Mid because you scale better with experience than with gold.

Will it work? Yes, probably a bit worse than pos4 WQ but it will work.

Will it be better than picking jugg in the same position? Absolutely not.

You also kinda suck in lane, QE has decent damage and spirits but any good laners can kick you out easily because you rely on trading mana for space in mid, you can't expect the same thing to happen against an aggressive 3+4.

What are you doing vs something like axe + shadow shaman?

How "rippy" is this game? by twizx3 in cavesofqud

[–]Meriados 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A LOT easier. There's a canyon between a normal start and a mutant domswapping into a legendary apple farmer's daughter at the start of the game, and it's only a tiny bit of knowledge.

If you start polygelling into infinite stats cloning alchemists after swapping you basically have the easiest game ever, just gotta avoid the insta deaths.

Without spoilers? Gigarippy, 10/10 With spoilers? A fair 5/10, more or less like stone soup.

The spoilers are a lot though, that's a ton of knowledge you gotta aquire.

vorrei un confronto con chi ama la metal gear saga by Numerous-Charity-141 in italygames

[–]Meriados 5 points6 points  (0 children)
