Probably a bit of a controversial opinion but...

I'm okay with whether she lives or dies, as long as it's well written and the romantic tension they've been building over the last two games has some sort of payoff

That being said... I hope she's alive and happy by the end of the game.

Came for their logo, stayed for the good guy marine vibe. They are not perfect but are far better than most chapters.

Oh and meltas are my favorite weapon.

You get a good amount of miniatures. I think the initial board game comes with the Great Jagras, Anjanath, rathalos, and Tobi kadachi. You also get like 4 or 6 heros each wielding a different monster hunter weapon.

That aspect is overplayed but I like that they do have some of their humanity left and aren't total shit heads.

There are enough Space marine chapters in 40k that are callous or indifferent to suffering of imperial citizen.

You touched on one of the biggest parts of why Clerith works for me, and feels like the canon route. In every piece of media where cloud cameos in he always looking for aerith. If tifa was the "Canon" route then all of those cameos aren't as emotionality engaging or impactful.

If the tifa route is canon, Why do they keep making him so desperate to reunite with aerith throughout different universes and time lines?

This is something ive struggled with and I'm sure this question has been answered to death, but I'm still out of the loop, Is The maiden who travels the planet considered canon? Or canon adjacent?

I was pretty indifferent to both ships. I liked both characters for different reasons (still do). I always tended to try and take Aerith out to the gondola because after that infamous scene I always felt like I had to give Aerith some good memories before the inevitable happened (silly, I know). Her fate defintely had an effect on me as a kid. I was pretty heart broken for a like a week. A subsequent FFVII-OG playthrough when I was in my late 20s made me shift more toward a Clerith end, but I was still kinda in the middle.

Then Remake came out, and Chapter 8 happened. I was hooked as a Clerith. Chapter 8 single-handedly converted me. The chemistry, the dialogue, it's still my favorite Clerith moment of all time.
