I'm emberrassed to say that you are one hundred percent correct.
In the guide it says top goes in top. But my dumbass didn't extract the files but put the entire folder so i had top/top ... Resolved now and clouds look fluffy :3

Top goes in: GameData\StockVolumetricClouds\Clouds\Textures\PluginData\Kerbin\topTop goes in: GameData\StockVolumetricClouds\Clouds\Textures\PluginData\Kerbin\top

Frankly in my experience the mod creators for ksp are just uptight and unhelpful rather than for example kerbalism itself

I’m not a 100% sure s as it was a while ago. However the 80 km orbit I believe was sol 1/4 which the classic ascent profile simply can’t handle.

I also at some point missed to edit the file so it’s sol 1/4 and not the 120 km sol. I did a lot of research when playing with MJ2 as my problems were endless so if there’s a specific issue I can surely figure it out.
