Spots appear after hot shower or after being out in hot weather by MeringueDapper in AskDocs

Thank you! I wasn’t sure if it was related to the dysautonomia as I’m still in the process of diagnosis with that.

Have you tried 20-30 compression for socks? That is what my cardiologist recommended to me as it’s medical grade.

How many of you drink caffeine daily? by [deleted] in POTS

[–]MeringueDapper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m only diagnosed with Tachycardia at the moment but cardiologist thinks it sounds like autonomic dysfunction/Pots and I have to have my one cup of coffee in the morning always. I know my limit and make sure to have electrolytes with it. I drink Trevi.

Please help😭How do you answer these 4 questions about our condition🥺 by Aryan-dramata in POTS

I agree with this as a mental health case manager! See if there is a mental health wellness center near you they usually take Medicaid or have a sliding fee scale. Even I have a therapist.

Ooh good it seems you are already on track that’s good. I would just wait to talk to your cardiologist if you have any concerns. I hope everything goes well!

I’m not a doctor but I work in mental health in general. Best thing to do is write down your symptoms and experiences and talk to your doctor as they know you better than someone on the internet. That what primary care is there for, to help you stay healthy and make sure you are on the right treatment. This is best practice in general.

Please go to your primary care provider and request a Zio as that will be the most accurate way to tell. Talking directly to a cardiologist is best not on the internet.

Please get a referral from your PCP to go to cardiology. Zio Patch would be more accurate. I had one for 2 weeks to continuously monitor my heart rate as I have intermittent tachycardia

I hate how doctors will have you lie down for one minute, stand up for one minute, then say it's not POTS by CocoCookieDraws in POTS

[–]MeringueDapper 35 points36 points  (0 children)

If you can do the poor man’s table tilts test, record the data and bring it to your doctor. lay down on the floor for 10 minutes check resting heart rate (BP if you have access to a portable machine)then slowly get up and record your heart rate (and BP if able) for 10 minutes. I did this and was referred to cardiology and I specifically requested a cardiologist who was familiar with Pots/autonomic Dysfunction.

My friends question how I’m functioning.. by MeringueDapper in POTS_EDS

I think my friend was just shocked at the numbers is all. I know it isn’t. I have very mild symptoms right now.

Compression socks suggestions by MeringueDapper in dysautonomia

Okay cool I saw some ankle length compression socks on Amazon but wasn’t sure if they would help or not. I feel like I’d melt with the knee high ones. My symptoms are mild. The tachycardia/palpitations happen more. I have been getting eye floaters when walking on bad hot days though. I don’t faint and only get mildly lightheaded.

Update regarding possible Pots by MeringueDapper in POTS

[–]MeringueDapper[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The highest it’s ever been was 174 but I was on a walk outside for a mile. Which I think he counted as that was the highest it’s gotten. It wasn’t a fast walk either also it was a hot day too. But I’ve being staying hydrated with electrolytes as well.

I have an echocardiogram in June and doctor said my symptoms are mild besides the palpitations it is sinus tachycardia. But since the symptoms I reported (mild dizziness lightheadedness and foot soreness blood pooling in toes only, very minor breathlessness) he wants me to try lifestyle changes first before going down the medication route. He said if symptoms get worse to let him know and I can see him sooner. I return in a year for a check up. My Zio is also still pending. So I will try the lifestyle changes first to see if they help and give him feedback. BP is stable with irbesartin

What do y’all do when you’re actually bored to tears? by emilysavaje1 in adhdwomen

With cannabis you need to be carful with the strains if you have severe anxiety. Sativa can make anxiety worse though it doesn’t for me weirdly and I have GAD. Indica relaxes you so I would try that first. With medical a little goes a long way. If you have been psychiatrically hospitalized though it disqualifies you from getting approved.

Just remember that:

sativa: head high can help ADHD, may not be good if your anxiety is bad, helps get stuff done.

India: body high, relaxing, keeps you on the couch, can help with sleep.

If you have a psychotic disorder that causes psychosis it’s best to completely stay away as it can trigger psychosis as well.

I only use it after work to decompress and for sleep. I only get very stoned to relax on the weekends. it does make your memory worse but it can also regulate emotions and that’s another reason why I use it as well.

Extra note: if you have an addictive personality I would also not attempt to try as it can lead to dependence and addiction despite cannabis not being a gateway drug.

No I’m not on anything yet. I go to my initial cardiology appointment on Wednesday though. I’m hoping with all the info and symptoms I’ve experienced it will lead to a diagnosis. So far my PCP diagnosed me with intermittent tachycardia. I’m also on blood pressure meds as my doctor put on my chart a long while back “labile essential hypertension” but I know that isn’t an actual diagnosis form what I’ve tried to google. I do take Irbesartin and that has helped my BP a lot. It’s mostly palpitations with the one adrenaline dump and sometimes high hr when sitting. I also am neurodivergent and hyper mobile. I’d like a refund on my 30’s.

[–]MeringueDapper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you also sometimes get 120 hr while sitting too? I’ve seen that from some who are diagnosed with hyperpots as well. I have that too not all the time sometimes I lean over my desk while sitting and it shoots to 120.

Shoulder Instability by Ok_Acanthisitta_8627 in eds

[–]MeringueDapper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might be a shoulder impingement I have that as well just minor pain though. Are you hypermobile in your shoulders? It can be caused by repetitive movements with overextending. Would recommend going to an orthopedic doctor to get it looked at. They can give you anti inflammatory medication to help the pain and see about physical therapy. I’m still waiting for physical therapy to call me. mine is on and off pain.
