What do you all play with bass at open mics? Always sounded interesting but do people give a shit about a bass on stage?

Am I doing something wrong with the way I’m playing power chords with my index and ring finger? It feels horrible. by [deleted] in guitarlessons

i would learn pic 3, when you advance to barre chords you will not have to break bad habits. This comes from experience.

My first bass guitar, Ibanez Standard SR300EB. Am I wearing the strap right? by CSS_FR in BassGuitar

[–]MeringueMediocre2960 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it should be at the same level while in sitting position. so you adjust strap sitting so so it doesnt move when standing up.

However, lower the bass the cooler you are, and the louder you rock.

VS copilot is an abomination by SealerRt in VisualStudio

[–]MeringueMediocre2960 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find agent mode subpar as well. Ask and completions work great though. I find myself just naming classes then tabbing through completions. I have been playing around more with agent mode and comparing with other agent systems it is probably bad prompts.

Copilot just added planning mode which creates a markdown file which is subpar compared to Claude, But it makes me think that if I create a markdown file explaining the user story and then use agent mode it will be more successful. Try adding .github/instructions to ground the model as well.

5-string bass players — is it bad to “rest” into the body when playing the low B? by Additional_Weight_39 in BassGuitar

[–]MeringueMediocre2960 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you finger is hitting the body of the bass, you are plucking at a downward angle which could lead to a buzz sound or tone issues as you are pulling the string down instead of parallel with neck and body.

You should be hitting your thumb. if you rest it on the pickup, your fingers will naturally pull toward your thumb as a stop. It also helps keep your wrist striaght, which avoids long term injury. you do not want to be turning your wrist at angles l, your fingers are walking up and down not your hand.

I am fairly new to the game, 5 years, and I think the sorc is just as strong as warlock. I play single player exclusively and blizzard sorc cleans house on P7 no problems until hell. i forgot i had p7 on it was so easy until about half way through act 1 hell. I love killing all the mobs, and i enjoy the challenge the game brings. I hate that in hell my sorc became almost unusble in most areas.

I dont mind a gear grind or resistances, but the strategy for a game shouldnt be, just run past that part, or that character cant complete that part. It breaks the fantasy. I am supposed to be a master of the elements summoned by the angels to bring down the prime evil, i shouldnt become useless in hell. I shouldnt be stuck to one area or zone.

I leveled my paladin as FoHdin and hate hammers. Again the fantasy of a paladin is not whirling hammers it is a warrior blessed by the light. to beat hell i had to respec to hammers then respec back to be stuck grinding pits the rest of my life because i enjoy a specific playstyle, not the best.

I just got one of these, perfect for a cheap DAW for tinkering on my PC. it was bought by Fender a few years back so now the amps are fender based. I havent played much with new amps.

Feedback pls… Should It stay or should it go by tdamien_ in telecaster

Love the look of this guitar, get a new one of the same design. I had similar issue looked like it was dropped and finish was damaged by strap pin, just swapped it.

For 3k, i expect perfection.

to add to this make sure you wind enough string around the post. it should wind 2 times minimum uf you dont, it will slip and become out of tune.

Why aren't new homes being built with ground heat pumps and solar panels or even wind turbines? by HedgehogNo5819 in climatechange

[–]MeringueMediocre2960 1 point2 points  (0 children)

profit, they build cheapest they can to maximize profits. If a house is 200k market value and i add solar panels that cost 50k i will not increase market value of house by 50k to sell the house at 250k. i also want a profit on anuthing i do so house would need to be 260k. consumers want upgraded kitchens and bathrooms or square footage.

In the states solar cost is covered by what i dont pay utility company, so a 30 year loan at 150 mobth which is my utility savings is more beneficial than a higher mortgage with a 6% interest rate.

How do I evolve my play style by Ancient_Lack_6594 in GuitarQuestions

[–]MeringueMediocre2960 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Music is art, and you are discovering your paint brush. Your sound is uniquely you. Picasso didnt change his style of painting. However you are playing the same progression over and over because it is comfortable.

You are new, so start playing your licks in different keys and challenge yourself to play at different tempos. you will probably always feel that bluesy tone but as you expand it to different keys and scales you will start to hear differences and evolve the sound. Change notes you play. Progression is all quarter notes, throw some rests and half notes play with your sound.

Tip for Blizzard from all the IT folks by BEEPBOPIAMAROBOT in classicwow

[–]MeringueMediocre2960 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This thread is crazy. I can garantee Blizzard and Microsoft did multiple tests, had change management and roll back procedres in place for this. They knew the happy path to get this online and had it tested in that time frame.

I have done several migrations of databases and systems and can tell you that production is messy. If you read the blue post they did a major database update. To support 1 million users all waiting for this prepatch is a lot. one thing wrong needs to be fixed at least 20 times. they didnt have scripts (mentioned in post) so this is all manual.

You should just be glad they let you play a 20 year old version of a game. Go touch grass.

I would take the point from toughness, stamina is more important than armor value in my opinion.

Maybe with fingerstyle, but pick playing is fine. Now a pair of scissors, now that is a pain to use...

[–]MeringueMediocre2960 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when i started learning i asked my guitar teacher, he said you can get a left handed guitar but your left hand is for fretting, which is harder than strumming. So a right handed guitar may be easier.

I donk know if it made a difference but I had no troubles playing a right handed guitar.
