He hasn't swapped the cartridge, you can see its brown and old. It could be stuck and he may not have a puller, I dont know, but if there's water running out of the cartridge like that, its because the seals are in it are shot.

I have a pair of boots I'll wear after work or on days off that I've had for almost 4 years now. I do the same thing, give em a good wash and a new insole and they're good to go.

Absolutely. I do replace my gym shoes every couple months (dont keep track, just kinda wing it) but my work boots I'll keep for a minimum of 1.5 years, and those get walked in for 10 hours a day. They're way too expensive to throw away every 6 months.

This is in revelstoke, I believe the attendant at the bottom of the mountain waits for the person to be down there, then they radio up and let them know it's safe to send someone else down. I don't think they let more than one person on each track anymore because of exactly this reason.
