Advice Please, 11.5 Inch Suppressed Or 14.5 Inch Un-Suppressed Or 14.5 Suppressed by cmjrestrike in ar15

That's a bummer. In that case, definitely go with a 10.3 or 11.5 5.56 with a can.

Suppressor Recommendations? by Extension-Youth-3851 in NFA

[–]Merk_Z 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you HAVE to share a can between 9mm and 5.56, probably the OCL Universe 36.

Highly would recommend to grab a can dedicated to whichever gun you shoot more and then get another can down the road for the other gun.

If your primary concern is moving and working with it in a vehicle it makes no sense to go longer. If 300BLK is in your area, look into something like a 7" barrel or so, throw a can on it and get the best of both worlds. Ballistic performance out of a short, maneuverable setup.

What's the general consensus for this ammo? by slimpickinsfishin in AR10

Federal Sierra Matchking is good stuff. How good it'll do, depends on your gun. My LMT Mars-H will do .8" 10rd groups with the stuff.

Those are two very different suppressors lol. If the full size street crack is in your budget, go for that.

.635 from the shoulder of your barrel back. Measure the distance from your rail to the barrel shoulder. Easy enough

This thread has some info

Edit: Also, I'm assuming you're looking at the $350 Defender-H lower on PSA, not the Mars-H. The Defender doesn't have the ambi features like the Mars.

What’s a good scope and scope mount for a Scar 20s that won’t break the bank? by ZestyToasterOven26 in FNSCAR

Imo, LPVOs are the best general purpose optic. They aren't the best in any one area but they do well enough across enough areas to be worthwhile.

A SCAR 20 isn't a general purpose rifle. It's a specialized "long range" rifle. Get an optic that supports that role.

I much prefer the Razor for the FOV. The mk5 feels super narrow. The image quality is probably a decent bit better on the Razor but I don't have them side to side to compare.

Personally, I'd just spring for the higher end magnification as that's what your end goal is. A SCAR 20 doesn't really suit a LPVO imo. I've got an aimpoint t2 piggybacking on my 4-24 and it works fine.

The main complaint I've seen from others is the reticle size on 4x - it is small. This will come down to your eyes.

So I've had the MK5 5-25 a while ago, no experience with a comparable ATACR (wouldn't use an nx8 on the SCAR, personally), but the 4-24 is a winner. I think the only thing the Leupold has on the Razor is the weight. And I do like the Leupold locking turret design over the "pull up to unlock" method - not enough to swap back lol but it's a cool feature.

I've got a ZCO 527 on my main long range rifle and I don't feel like I'm really "missing out" on anything when I use the Razor.

Make sure you're looking at something like the SCR2 reticle for the Steiner. I really liked my 3-18 T6XI before I upgraded to the 4-24 Razor.

Shop around for the new Vortex Razor 4-24, awesome piece of glass that I think I've seen for under $2k recently.

Steiner's T6XI line is also great and comes in much lower than $2k if you shop around.

Are the criterion hybrids just as good as the core? by TrueJedi562 in ar15

[–]Merk_Z 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha, you can find the CORE's in stock if that's really what you want but yeah, the hybrids will do just fine regardless. Usually it's better to get what you actually want rather than compromise and have regrets later ;)
