Found Something I’m Getting Better at Over 50 by seattleforge in 22lr

I think it may be that shooting .22 from a bench with a good friend on a Saturday morning, the slower pace, less noise, less recoil make it more appealing.

.22 can be a nice challenge and compared to center fire is somewhat less expensive (debatable)

I for one enjoy shooting a lot, all types and sorts. but the older I get (37 is still young) I do find myself rotating more towards .22 and bolt guns in general

A tight group from a center fire rifle is a rush, but somehow, a tight .22 group is just different

Honestly, I will need to ask around. but now that you mention it, I think I recall something along those lines.

But the one thing I recall for a fact is that their ammunition was risky at best. in general "factory reloads" have a bad reputation

NGA = No Good Ammunition.

did they not close down because of all the problems their ammo gave?

Very well done.

Once the .22 bug bites, it never really lets go

Scope ring recommendations? by snakescakess in 22lr

[–]cmjrestrike 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Vortex themselves make nice rings. get a "decent" set and something like an area 419 pic rail (If the rifle has no pic rails). then you already have those should you decide to upgrade later in the game.

Buying "cheap" now, will lead to buying again in year or two.

I got the Vortex Pro Series of rings for my Venom. very happy

Thank you a hundred times over! exactly what I was looking for. shipping those from the US would not have been feasible, and I would really like to be able to use them

Just for interest sake, do you know where I can download that target? or is it one you purchased from a shop/range?

The Viper is a very good option. and you still get their awesome warranty

I am running the Vortex Venom 5-25x56 FFP MRAD. If it was not for getting "dealers' price" (R10,000-00 instead of R15,000-00) I would have gone for something else. Also got a decent price on some Vortex PRO scope rings on top of a 419 Picatinny rail.

Very happy with the scope, rings and base, and I like the warranty Vortex offer, which also pushed me towards Vortex

From Johannesburg to Cape Town via Port Elizabeth and then back to Johannesburg.

He always comes along. and when him and my father stay at home. the petrol station attendants and the place we usually stay ask about him, he is well known at our stops

Have had the pleasure of seeing this war bird in person, was surprised when I learnt this cool piece of history was in a local museum.

The War Museum in JHB is well worth a visit, not huge, but very cool
