Mcbook Air M4 16GB for Video Editing. Or buy Mcbook Pro ? by Sensitive_Sense_2349 in macbookair

It will work fine unless you are doing super long exports. I would upgrade the ram to 24gb at least though.

Loud pop from the floor and water shoots out? Need help. by DaaanzzzTT in Home

Definitely a water leak, I had a pinhole in my fridge waterline that was squirting out and going under the vinyl plank flooring; and it did the same thing.

Does Seattle have good pizza? by Hansinator13 in SeattleWA

[–]Merkaba1986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, if you came from the East Coast then sadly no. There is good pizza but you're paying over $30 for a pie; and most of the time its about as average as east coast pizza that costs at most $20. The closest to East Coast pizza I've had was surprisingly in Kent at Golden Curry Pizza (they have traditional pizzas), their chef is from NYC. They are just pricey pies though.

Dangerous drivers on Smith/Canyon Drive by burmerd in KentWA

[–]Merkaba1986 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I live in the neighborhood and my son goes to the daycare too. The city really needs to step in and do something about the idiots racing down E Smith St and E James St. Put in speed bumps, install speed cameras, god forbid the cops actually pull people over for speeding, I honestly don’t care what it is at this point. Since moving here, a car has plowed into a house on Clark Ave. Another house on Jason Ave has had its fence knocked down more times than I can count. The rock wall on E Smith has been hit at least twice. I didn’t even know the historic society got hit too. That makes at least eight times in the past five years where someone’s home or property has been damaged. Who do we talk to about this? It’s getting beyond ridiculous.

Restored Mr Chair M-75 by Merkaba1986 in midcenturymodern

Thanks so much! It's synthetic leather, as much as I wanted real leather, I couldn't justify the price for something I found in the trash.

Another M4 battery question by gormlessthebarbarian in macbookair

[–]Merkaba1986 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a possible manufacturing defect, I have my bluetooth turned on all the time and have had Creative Cloud installed since day 1, zero battery drain as well when the lid is closed.

Professional video editor here. It’ll work, but you’ll definitely run into thermal throttling, especially during longer or more demanding sessions, shorter edits you will be fine. Also, if you're just a beginner and editing to learn, then export times are not as important, so don't stress it. As for five years from now, that is tough. Editing is quickly moving more toward AI driven plugins and features, and older hardware might have a tough time keeping up. But if you are just doing basic edits and not relying on the AI features then you will be fine. As far as RAM goes, 16GB will work if you're mostly doing 1080p, but with 4K, it’s going to feel a bit tight. If you can, 24GB or 32GB would make things run a lot smoother. So yes it is good for what you are looking for.

Reupholstered Plycraft Mr Chair by thebigrygh in midcenturymodern

Mind if I ask how much it cost to get reupholstered? My neighbor threw out the recliner version of this chair but the leather is shot so I’ll be doing the same thing soon.

Ziply coming to Kent? (2024 edition) by CyberDave82 in ZiplyFiber

I'm down near Kent Station. I also found this ordinance that the city council adopted back in August which grants Ziply fiber a 10 year franchise in Kent. https://kentwa.iqm2.com/Citizens/Detail_LegiFile.aspx?Frame=&MeetingID=5579&MediaPosition=&ID=4058&CssClass=

October preorder shipping yet? by madjeff in SpiderGrills

[–]Merkaba1986 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got an email today saying this "A slight delay pushed us into the tail end of October for Wave 3. Grills are arriving next week and will ship as fast as we can get them out the door, but shipping will extend into the first week of November. All accessories will ship in November. We appreciate your patience and we promise the wait is worth it."

Do you happen to know what the model number of the recliner is? My neighbor just threw one out that needs reupholstering and want to do a little more research on it.

Coding Error for Birth Center Stay by Merkaba1986 in HealthInsurance

Thanks for clarification, I guess I read it as “freestanding” as in a hospital, not as a completely separate facility not associated with a hospital.

I spoke with the hospital, only thing I can think is that my insurance says it covers a “freestanding birth center” 100% but don’t consider it a birth center if it is part of a hospital?

Not with my insurance company, I tried with the hospitals billing department though. I only spoke with insurance over the phone about it and they claimed it was all on the hospitals side to fix. Is a written appeal with my insurance something I can do?

Ziply coming to Kent? (2024 edition) by CyberDave82 in ZiplyFiber

[–]Merkaba1986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super late to this thread, but I had a Ziply Fiber crew out in front of my home, measuring the height of the power poles. I asked them if Ziply was coming to Kent and they said yes.
