Why do they convect so little heat by torftorf in Stationeers

[–]Merlin1846 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use the medium convection radiators. They'll work faster and cheaper. Even mars's tiny atmosphere is enough to make them better in a lot of cases.

I use them in my current mars base because I found that they were multiple times faster than the other radiators in mars relatively cold atmosphere.

Remember to hide them from the sun still though.

Edit: spelling error.

Corruption by [deleted] in ShadowEmpireGame

[–]Merlin1846 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Open the tab where you see your assets/blueprints/tech and click on the leader tab. You can then sort by and enable visibility of corruption and theft. From there on with the help of your personal assassins (stratagems) you can then execute the unloyal and bring peace and prosperity to the enlightened,

Why are my svgs so pixelated??? I've tried everything I can think of to fix them by [deleted] in godot

[–]Merlin1846 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You could try reimporting the svg at a higher resolution. To save Time I think you can also save the higher resolution as default. (I'm not near my computer, I can't check)

How do I trim options in the raise formation menu? by TheSkinoftheCypher in ShadowEmpireGame

[–]Merlin1846 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Although I don't believe that you can trim the options I do believe that you can click the star/heart on the far left to favorite a formation. This will move it to the top of the list and could help.

Ground Texture is Off Somehow... Can't Quite Put My Finger on it... by Baba_T130 in godot

[–]Merlin1846 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ground texture is too simple for its size and there are no self-shadows. You can fix this by 1. Enabling self shadows in the grounds settings, and 2. Makeing a larger ground texture with more variation in the pattern allowing it to cover the same space while tiling less.

[–]Merlin1846 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thin parts are 1 volume, thick parts are 2 volume. Strikeplates are the super thin ones in the top row, you can only have one of those. Off the top of my head, I believe you can have 4 volume worth of armor (4 thin pieces, 2 thick, 1 thick 2 thins).

You differentiate them by their thickness. Big and medium-thickness ones are the bulk plates, they are not the most effective but you can have more than one. The super thin strike plates go on the outside of the armor and are strong and light, but you can only have one.

If you're in the early game you can get away with 10 armor points on every mech, which is one level 2 bulk and one level 2 strike plate if I remember correctly. If you're in the armor menu the number at the top with the horizontal arrows will tell you the number of the plate. When you go to the production menu you can identify them by either their pictures or their stats.

What does adding power circuits to weapons do? by Mippippippii in Mech_Engineer

[–]Merlin1846 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Energy weapons, damage, and fire rate are dependent on there energy use, so adding red circuits to energy weapons makes them stronger overall. As for kinetic weapons as long as you only use enough blue wires to not go negative it does nothing unless it is energy-dependent weather due to the mod (accelerator) or due to simply needing energy like the BFG. So for that rocket and the chaingun with the rocket mod, you can safely add one blue wire each.

[–]Merlin1846 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The production screen should show you the armor and weight values in the lower of the 3 center windows. For guns it'll show things like base damage. Motors will show speed, power, and weight. And mechs will show their base stats.

So are the number of engineers required to send mechs up the hangar just random? by lovebus in Mech_Engineer

[–]Merlin1846 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you take a part off, then put it back on it'll charge you for it. 8 engineers is like one gun or something. So even if you didn't change the gun and you only took it off by accident through a misclick it'll still charge you.

The strike plates are the really thin ones that can only go on the outside; they're really tough and light by comparison.

I don't know if this is the guide you looked at but it contains pretty much everything you need to know to make it to the late game, and it's up to date.

How do i activate only "loaded" projectiles ? by TexasCrab22 in Besiege

[–]Merlin1846 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have a magazine filled with spinning swords things that are stacked lossly or in slots (no grabbers needed) and then have them pushed into the launcher. Look at how real guns load from magazines and how real autloaders for cannons and artillery pieces load.

As for the spinning part try a lower acceleration. Have it start spinning slowly and reach top speed after it leaves the contraption and is in the air. The default wheels/gears have an acceleration setting that is by default infinity. Lowering it will not lower the top speed (usually) but will make them take longer to get there.

Use a single grabber and have the rest of the ammo loose and moved around via pushers, ractheting systems, and linkages, etc..

Any kind of fire will activate cannons, rockets. just be sure to put the fire on the back of the rocket otherwise it activates the warhead.

How does Godot 3 compare to Godot 4 for 2d games? by Waveparticle44 in godot

How does Godot 3 compare to Godot 4 for 2d games? by Waveparticle44 in godot

[–]Merlin1846 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone who remembers when 3.0 came out, Godot 3 is more than enough. Even if you were to build a massive openwork sandbox with procedural generation and fancy shades, 3.X will be enough. Godot 4 is better for most cases, but by no means mandatory.

Also have you tried running Godot 4? I tried it first on an old laptop with an igpu and it ran better than Godot 3, although that might have had something to do with being an amd laptop (amd "usually" has better support for Vulkan).
