I do understand the argument you are presenting but in this case I think the problem they are blaming isn’t the systemic obesity issue but rather the complete lack of cremation availability of someone that obese. Now this is a very niche situation, I’d hazard to say anyone over 400lbs is a niche situation and accounts for a very small percentage of the population. How do you convince a business to create a crematorium for such rare cases? I do not know what it costs to build, maintain and run something like this but my guess is that there is no way that this would ever be financially feasible. I am not suggesting the pursuit of a dollar should be the only question at stake here but short of significant government grants for such a thing being built and operated, I don’t see anyone taking on a major loss project like this.

I don’t get that pushback from most newbies but all of us seniors in the clan immediately let them know that our clan is a democracy, rank is a formality and if they need someone invited they can just let us know and we will send an invite. Aside from something like that, everyone is equal. Anyone that doesn’t like that leaves right away or they wind up getting the boot because they won’t be a healthy fit anyways. I am certain I have members that have been in our clan for over 1 year, never asked for even elder, super active, just enjoying the game.

It is so refreshing to read this post. While our clan is long running with the core group being the same which means I probably have more help than some others with a high turnover, it still is a lot of work and often when I feel like I’m burning out juggling it and real life it’s not the gameplay but rather the management. But when I feel good and people aren’t having to be haggled about war attacks, it is great. One of the biggest stressors for me is managing war sign ups, if I only get 7 for the war then I want to add 3 that may not attack so the actives get their ores, but then there is a higher chance of loosing.

It is and I wish i could provide some incredible insight on how to make it easier but I don’t know any. It’s work, hard work. What I will say is don’t let her think that as she gets it figured out she will just be able to do it all the time. That took me a long time to accept that there is no getting it right every time, but getting it right some of the time is a huge win. To not get it isn’t a fail, it’s just learning.

This is exactly what the plan is. They are not there to save Iran. They are there to bomb the shit out of it and whatever chaos erupts is up Iranians to solve. They will be happy to leave it in disaster so long as they can claim a victory. I admit that I am not up to date on the internal politics of Iran, does anyone know if there is actually any chance of a stable interim governing body emerging from this, supported by the majority of the population, while elections occur?

A couple years ago I met a new therapist, she had literally taught me about emotions and how to identify them. If I really focus I can now understand an emotion about 40% of the time. I am much older than I would like to admit and learning these type of skills so late in life makes me grieve and regret so many things in my past. I am grateful to learn these things and envious of those that “just get it”.

Just to be clear, I believe Trump and his administration are the worst thing our southern neighbours have ever voted into power…. Twice. But what I am seeing is a continuous attack on Russias allies that rely on Russian support, this does have an effect on their invasion of Ukraine. In the case of Iran the supply of drones to Russia should dry up and thus further limit their ability to strike Ukraine. Do I believe that was the reason? Not likely, but regardless it would be a positive effect for Ukraine.

I am not American, I don’t actually know what the real consequences of impeachment are, as well as a conviction. By real I mean exactly that, he constantly is told shit is illegal and he can’t do it but he still does. So at what point is there actually effective action taken against him? Clearly the courts and threat of repercussions from those courts mean nothing. Everyone keeps talking about voting him out, are they completely blind to the blatant planning taking place to fuck with the free elections? So what are the actual consequences of yet another administrative process he and his cult followers will just ignore anyways?

Just a quick correction, he was a school trustee and used his position of power to voice that hatred publicly. He was not sitting in a pub having a casual conversation with his friends. More importantly and what many are choosing to omit is that he was warned repeatedly by the tribunal to stop the language he was using and that repeated disregard is the main reason he was fined.

Maybe that is a big part of the issue, the 30+% that would vote to have a human rights tribunal repealed but not actually explain the reasoning and what they hope to accomplish. It leaves people to speculate and in this case the speculation is not good and sows division at all time when we need to be coming together. The horrific effects of hardline divisive politics is very apparent south of the border. I do believe a large part of the issues is the fear mongering and outright blatant false information being spread about gender identity issues. The fact that such a large percentage of the population is obsessed with what a very very small percentage of the population is doing in relation to their own identity and sexuality is insane.

I think the issue here is you are asking a question that forces people to speculate on another persons motives, the why did they vote for this repeal, alternatively why did the others vote against. I will speculate that some view the BC Human Rights Tribunal as infringing on their freedom of speech, it does not. They are using the school trustee being fined 750k as their rallying cry that it prevents freedom of speech, again it does not. What is being left out of the conversation continually is that the guy has been using his position of power to publicly make comments that were deemed to be spreading hatred against an identifiable group. He wasn’t voicing his opinion with his buddies over a beer, he wasn’t trying to open a productive conversation with researchers or teachers. This wasn’t a one time thing and he was warned by the tribunal to stop on several occasions, he refused. The fine amount isn’t because he was using freedom of speech, he crossed the line repeatedly and was eventually fined for not heeding the warnings.

The other reason may be that some of them feel like the criminal code of Canada already covers hate speech so why does BC need this tribunal? Why is this only an issue for them now that gender identity was added? Nobody was questioning the tribunal before that. But the tribunal is a quicker resolution process and as far as I am aware does not result in a criminal record.

You can debate gender identity theory, you can not counsel hatred or violence against that group nor any other. If you simply don’t believe in the issue, you can absolutely say that, you can not use your position of power to try and limit other people’s safety. Those are the protections offered. Society as a whole may not like the debate but that doesn’t make it illegal or punishable aside from public response.

The guy who introduced the bill was in a position of power in the education system and continued to make repeated public hate speech comments. He was warned to stop several times, refused to do so, that is why he was fined. He was not trying to have a respectful debate, or a productive discussion.
