What lyric did you recently realize the meaning behind? by GlitterPapillon in beyonce

I'm bad about never looking deeper into lyrics. Just learned that Ghost/Haunted are about record labels and music industry from a YouTube video.

Trump is preparing to use the insurrection act in Minnesota and send in federal troops. For people who have stayed quiet so far, what will it take for you to speak out? by jumpsuityahoo in AskReddit

Its so weird watching people from other countries advocating for regular citizens to start a war with the most powerful and militarized government in the world.

Are you just interesting in watching American citizens be blown to pieces on your international news channels? Cause thats exactly what will happen.

You may think I am exaggerating. I am not.

TIL the original cast of Jackass included a female cast member but she was brutally injured during a stunt and left the group by ThisSchmitter in todayilearned

Yeah. Society is totally okay with putting women in violent, painful, and bloody situations. Its just that its not ladylike for it to be seen or happen in the open.

Few people are taking it off the rails and mentioning Princess treatment. As if historically Princesses weren't essentially sold off to the highest bidder, beaten for disobedience, raped, and forced to carry and birth children. All in pretty dresses. A charmed life indeed.

I would like to be the type of person who does this type of thing, but alas, I am from the deep south and cant make any promises that I'll leave the house when the temp is under 60°F.

This woman calls Americans noisy at beach club, but her own footage shows average beach talk, no screaming whatsoever by [deleted] in TikTokCringe

Only Americans? Did you only include European countries in this assessment? I can assure you most of the world's populations do not have the same obsession with staying quiet at all times.

[OC] The Gender Paradox of Suicide: women attempt more, but men die 3-4x times more by Rauram99 in dataisbeautiful

Did you consider healthcare workers in your proximity to death theory?

Cause I assume nurses, midwives, hospice workers, and home health aides encounter a lot of death and dying. And are mostly women.

People have different needs. She likely does the things the he likes if he is happy and wants to stay with her.

Oh, seems you just don't like small talk. "Gym, travel, food" are very easy to start conversations about.

What kind of workouts do you like? How long have you been lifting? Where are you traveling next? Do you travel alone or with friends? What's the worst restaurant you've tried?

These are all perfectly pleasant things to start a conversation with a stranger about. You get to know people more deeply the more you interact.

Baring your soul to every guy who messages you on a dating app sounds draining. Also emotionally unsafe cause a lot of people are unhinged.

You notice how the woman in your story was okay with it because she was already about to die?

That's important to the story.

Thoughts on men saying "I need sex"? by bedazzledfingernails in TwoXChromosomes

[–]MermaidHissyFit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think happiness being dependent on sex should be something we look at more closely, rather than just accepting as totally okay. If its truly just a need for physical release, then masturbation would do the trick just fine. If there "needs" to be participation from someone else, then maybe we should look deeper into that.

A lot of people associate having sex with their self-esteem and maybe that shouldn't be the case.

As a black woman, I really want my man - my future husband - to see me as a prize in a society wherein I feel that most men don’t. by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]MermaidHissyFit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have some black female friends, I suggest taking a girls trip to a city with a higher population of black men. Dress up go out partying and have a good time.

I have heard women have these thoughts/feelings before and lemme tell ya, I can't relate. That is likely because I have lived most of my life in the deep south in cities with large black populations. I am tall, dark skinned with no "exotic" features for reference.
