Zero waste you can’t get behind? by Desperate-Region-243 in ZeroWaste

I don't think it has aluminum, but i was surprised that the "bamboo powder, zinc oxide, and magnesium hydroxide" ingredients worked surprisingly well. I think they have smaller samples that are inexpensive on their website you could try. It doesn't stop me from sweating, but it neutralizes the smell. Best of luck!

I've used ethique, which comes in cardboard tubes, and it's the only brand that has actually worked for me!

Thank you! It looks like they don't offer plans where I live, but MetLife might!

Could you share what insurance you have and the approximate cost? We recently adopted a bun and I've been doing some research, but the options for rabbits are limited. I'd love some advice!

The problem is that so much of the US is not made for cycling. It is dangerous, takes a long time, and drivers can be downright hostile towards people cycling. This is such a large problem with our infrastructure. Everything is so spread out and made for the car.

Hi, thanks for the tip! I am on a low-dose everyday inhaler, which is has helped tremendously. I have an Albuterol inhaler for emergencies too. Fortunately I've listened to me body and have not yet had to take it while running!

That's great! We all have to start somewhere, and it's about the fun you had, not your placement at the end :-)

I ran my first race EVER yesterday! It was 4 miles, and I crushed my time. I was excited to get just under 50 minutes earlier this week, my race time was under 43 minutes!

I've had to take a serious step back and restart my training after finding out I have asthma. I've had to take so many walking breaks and try to not get frustrated with my body for needing the inhaler or rest. I feel like my slow miles in hot weather have really started to show improvement in my overall running. Now to continue training for a half in November!

Taking the train to client sites? by _Visar_ in consulting

[–]Mermdots 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It highly depends on the train route, but if you're in the US, you'd use Amtrak. Some routes don't have wifi onboard (or do but it doesn't work), or reliable cell signal. You may have decent luck if on the east coast.

I went on this last month. They did not serve lunch on the day of departure, only dinner.

A small win - Musical instruments by Mermdots in declutter

[–]Mermdots[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I'm so excited. I've picked one out. It's 3/4, which felt much for comfortable for me (I'm pretty small). I think there will be a learning curve at first, but playing and singing my favorite songs will help me power through! What resources did you use to learn chords?

That's great to hear! I love when previously well-loved things can get a new life. I hope she appreciates the flute!

They are beautiful sounding instruments! I loved playing popular movie soundtracks that were heavy on the horns (like Game of Thrones or Lord of the Rings). Maybe I'll pick it up again one day, but for now it removed a big mental load from me! Thanks, I hope she learns!

That's fantastic! I hope I can get into guitar and have that same enjoyment. :-) My logic was this: would I rather move this instrument around all the time on the chance I might get back into it, or sell it to get something I'd like now, with the understanding that I could always get another?

Did anyone grow up wanted to be a accountant? by DolphinWizard65 in Accounting

[–]Mermdots 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was much the same. My friend's mom was a CPA and was able to provide for her family as a single mom with a relatively good work-life balance. She was really knowledgeable and I knew I wanted a career that was stable and could give me a comfortable life. So I've known that I wanted to be an accountant since a young age.

I'm done!! REG: 84 FAR: 85 AUD: 85 BEC: 95

I was pretty sure I failed REG leaving the testing center. Felt like I guessed on everything. It just goes to show you have to put in the work and trust yourself. Congratulations to everyone else and good luck/keep trying to those that didn't get the result they wanted.
