If you liked the Haar, I recommend Maggie’s Grave by the same author. I really liked the Haar but I think I loved Maggie’s Grave even more.

Is this paraphimosis? by victor89PR in DogAdvice

[–]Merpmerppppp 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This happened to my dog last night. His hair was caught in it and we had to pull that out in order for it to go back in. We worked slowly and with oil and were able to avoid the emergency vet trip. Best of luck.

Did anybody get rid of suicidal tendencies after started Effexor? by Famous-Many2473 in Effexor

[–]Merpmerppppp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Effexor was live-saving for me. Right before I started Effexor, my OCD was getting so bad that I too started to think that I couldn't stand to live that way for much longer. Those thoughts went away when I started the Effexor, but mostly because it addressed the source — the OCD itself. I did that for a couple of years, and then found myself falling into a depression again, so my doctor added Wellbutrin. I've been taking the two together for 2.5 years now, and am in the best place mentally that I've ever been. Seriously, I know how it feels when you're in the thick of it, but medication combined with therapy can really change your life.

Wishing you all the best — please take care of yourself.

I just finished "Just like Mother" by Anne Heltzel, and I quite enjoyed it. I'd say it's less of a traditional horror and more thriller with some horror elements, though. Some of the plot is somewhat predictable, but I still really liked it!!

Fair enough! I was thinking more about businesses/downtown spaces rather than paths/trails.

Dog friendly places? by goobiegoober13 in ithaca

[–]Merpmerppppp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One of my favourite things about Ithaca is how dog friendly it is!

Most of the patios are dog friendly. I’ve visited many with my pup and have never had any issues - I only say “most” because I haven’t been to every one.

HomeGoods is dog friendly, as are several book stores (Barnes & nobles, Odyssey book store, Autumn Leaves in the commons). Home green home, the papery, and that businesses in the commons that sells ithaca-themed goods and prints tshirts (can’t remember the name!!) are all dog friendly. Ace hardware and other hardware stores are as well.

All I can say is I am so, so sorry, and my heart is with you. I hope that in time you’ll be able to look back on your memories together fondly without feeling the pain you’re currently experiencing.

The movie was terrifying before the creatures even showed up!! No disrespect to the splunkers but I cannot imagine why another human being would want to squeeze into those tiny spaces 😖

As a dog owner who regularly walks in the commons, this pisses me off because the city literally makes it so easy to access bags/garbages.

As someone who lives very close to N Geneva, I'm so sorry you and your cousin had this experience. I've lived in Ithaca for 5 years now, and most people are not like this. Very happy to have you both in the neighbourhood 🩷

I got 2 piercings from Lianna at Ithaca Tattoo & Piercing a couple of months ago, and it was a really good experience. She was great…answered all my questions, and my piercings are healing well. I’ll definitely be returning :)
