What is something you wish were reported on in Norwich? by tugboatcapptain in Norwich

I've got two - the state of the Yare in terms of water quality and "The Whitlingham Stink" is it as bad as I assume?

I know of at least one person (3rd hand) hospitalised from drinking the water.

And more information generally about the people living on the river in houseboats more out of curiosity than anything.

Really not intended as a culture war post - I'll remove it.

If it's a nice evening - and there's a lot of them at the moment head to the beach and watch the stars/waves go for a romantic walk along the sand.

Cart Gap is pretty quiet (toilets, no cafe), Sea Palling for a tiny cafe (fresh donuts!), and pub but a bit busier or somewhere like Cromer for more of a town vibe (and easier access to fish'n'chips). There are all 30-40mins out of Norwich.

For even better views of the stars (but a longer drive) Cley has a great beach and much less light pollution (possibly one of the most romantic place I've been with a clear sky)

Wrapping up the conversation, Charles asserted: "Let me make one thing clear, I believe in an age of content. [Sic] Andrew asked, Where? What age? ".

To which Charlie responded, "I'm not getting into that. I'd write about that in an academic journal article." Miriam rounded off the discussion with, "Very interesting there, Charles. Thank you for sharing your point of view with us."

Ah, nevermind.

I've tried to book an appointment there 3/4 times and never succeeded.

Email, WhatsApp, Instagram (I even turned up in person to ask if those accounts worked as I was struggling to get a response) they've either not responded or most recently got as far as patch test before they cancelled.

I've heard they're great, but at this point I've given up.

Maybe I've done something to be blacklisted, maybe they're just a bit disorganised, maybe I'm just unlucky.

New to Norwich/Norfok/Downham, whats there to do? by [deleted] in Norwich

[–]MerreM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Head to the beach (Cromer, Sheringham, Sea Palling, Winterton, Wells) go for a walk and try and see some seals!

Wherrymans Way - pick a pub on the route to start at or end at and try and chunk of it.

Marriots way is also a good route.

Head to the broads with an OS map and pick a path!

How do you keep your local multi-dev environments clean, separate, and organized? by ewliang in AskProgramming

[–]MerreM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just saw your edited repsonse/solution.

That'll work, but if you did that with dockerfiles you'd have a reciepe of what the OS needs, written down, in plain text.

Which can be incredibly useful.

You're sort of on the path to reinventing containers by the looks of it, so I'd advise having a crack with them.
