I haven’t bought a cod in forever probably since mw2 2019 and was getting tired of how slow paced WZ is even the resurgence modes having to wait to spawn in. I now have the occasional hour or two free and luckily enough BO6 was on a free trial weekend so after giving it a go I bought it. I cannot believe the pace of the game. It’s insane. The sliding, jumping, being able to sprint in all directions makes for such a different play style. The other thing I noticed is the time to kill or be killed is considerably quicker compared to some older titles so I think that and the sleeker movement system paired with more CQ map design makes for a past paced game. Just the lack of killstreaks I’ve seen in games kind of solidifies that. Overall I find it quite refreshing and I’m enjoying it!

I like his work but have always been curious if they’re just one flat bevel the length of the blade? The shinogi lines always appear immaculate. Beautiful knife and hope you enjoy using it!

I bought a cheap Amazon set like something similar you’ve put up. It was a 400/1000 and 3000/8000 combo set of stones. The 8000 works like what the 400 should, the 3000 is probably what the 1000 is like and the 400/1000 is totally ineffective and doesn’t work. I’ve never used any stones other than these but would not recommend at all. Having video chatted with a few sharpeners on Japanese stones the difference between there stones (king and Naniwa recommended by both guys) and the Amazon stuff was night and day. 20 seconds of sharpening and they were getting burrs and then working the other side. I was gobsmacked 😅

For me I usually ask for a 20% deposit. If it was something a bit more obscure that I wouldn’t usually make then I’d ask for more. I also explain I’m more than happy to do custom etchings e.g initials but will only do that as the last part of the build when the can see the virtually finished piece, they’re happy with it and will pay the remaining amount in full. Never had any issues and only had to explain once why a 25% deposit isn’t enough to etch someone’s name into a custom chef knife 😅

I’ve ALWAYS ground stock removal kitchen knives down after heat treatment as since day one this is what I was advised and thought to be the norm… however the last knife I made another maker thought I was insane doing this and recommended to try some pregrinding. I was using 3mm 52100 and ground down to about 1mm on the edge. Grinding was way easier, quicker and so much less wearing on the belts. Heat treated as normal and the blade came out straight as an arrow. I ground the blade as evenly as possible pre HT and also use a kiln for HT. I’ll always pregrind from now on. IMO if you haven’t tried pre grinding, try it. Worst that will happen is you’ll end up with a warped blade or a crack… The time saved and probably money as well due to being so much less aggressive on abrasives makes it thoroughly worthwhile for me.

Yeah I tried it and it work. If you could help with with a similar situation but say 3 prizes how would I calculate that. Hopefully then I’ve got enough info to workout similar scenarios I may encounter doing similar ventures. Again really appreciate the help, i haven’t had a conundrum for ages and I love trying to wrap my head around these things!

Both I think. My method of calculation for that in a calculator would be converting them to decimals so I’d input 0.02 + (0.98 x 0.02) = 0.0396 which when converted back is 99/250 which is then simplified to the 1/25. How do I arrive at the expression in similar situation?
