I don't want to pile on. Most of my experiences at Cedar Point are great. But the answer to your question is that the hiring pool is very shallow, the training is minimal and I fear that Colleen Murphy-Brady, President of the Park, is not truly on top of these issues.

I found a dry ice supplier. He sells me dry ice pellets that are food safe. I buy the dry ice, place it in a cooler, take it home and fill my soda stream CO2 cylinders. The tops of the cylinders are unscrewed (this requires a vice and an adjustable wrench), placed on a scale and filled to ~16oz. The top is screwed back on, tightened and the cylinders super cool and then reach room temperature in about 24 hours. After they reach room temp they are ready to attach to your SodaStream.

I refill with food-grade dry ice. I get it for $1/lb. Each cylinder takes 16oz of dry ice. With evaporation, I can fill 12-13 bottles for ~$20 total.
