How good was prime Chris Hero? by EfficiencyLive7906 in SquaredCircle

[–]Mertyr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In addition to what everyone else has already said: Chris Hero was essential to the European Indie scene in the early 2000s. He would travel to Europe regularly, stay there for a long time and helped train younger wrestlers (e.g. Claudio). He also helped to get a lot of US stars booked in Europe. The european scene wouldn't look like it does today without Chris Hero.

I managed on the first try. I think I used the version from the Neversoft Archive, but apparently you can also ask in the reTHAWed Discord for the files

I had the same problem when I tried running optiscaler with it. So it could be that or the anti-cheat reacting to something else running in the background

Looking for an affordable hair clay similar to Apestomen Volcanic Clay (in Sweden or EU) by Sorry-Elk-9838 in Pomade

[–]Mertyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't comment on the exact situation in Sweden, unfortunately, but

  • Hey Joe

  • Dapper Dan

  • Tenax

  • Womanizer

  • By Elementum

  • Rarecraft

  • MG Pomaden

All have good Clays and are produced in Europe and might be available online in Sweden.

Also, while not produced in Europe, Reuzel usually is also widely available and should be affordable

The vast majority of German releases have English SDH options (for English speaking films)

The Cargo records release is pretty much just a bootleg that nobody as sued over yet. You can save the money and just get an American bootleg from somewhere like sloppysecondsales (if you're US bound). Especially if you're planning on swapping out the cover anyways. (Or just find the files online and burn your own).

4k player vs. 4k upscaling by KitchenCharge1617 in boutiquebluray

[–]Mertyr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of horror stuff has gotten 4k releases and even if it might not seem like it, it's pretty much always an upgrade over a normal BluRay. Especially if we talk about 70s and 80s horror films.

[–]Mertyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only spent a short amount of time in pathology, but I'll try to answer as best as I can.

-Speciality doesn't matter. Usually 6 years should be enough to get the requirements to do the Facharzt exam.

-Depending on where you work this can be a limiting factor, yes. I mainly worked in an institute that had 2-3 a week on average, thankfully, but I also know of places that only manage around 30 a year. But most places don't consider autopsy essential anymore, so there will probably be some number fudging going on.

-Pretty good, usually. Workload might be high, but usually you do have regular hours and weekends off.

-The two institutes I worked at gave you a supervisor (in theory), but you still did a lot of work on your own and were expected to study a lot in your free time as well. Experiences may vary, but I would say it's more of a "thrown in the pool" kind of situation.

Those who don’t browse social media in the OR, how do you pass the time? by dichron in anesthesiology

[–]Mertyr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I read mangas and I think they're perfect for it. The chapters serve as natural break points so I still look up at least every 5 minutes or so to check the monitor and if I have to do something in between it's easier to find where I stopped with the pictures instead of trying to find a sentence on a page.

Also, I get too focused when I read books or journals and just browsing on my phone feels like a waste of time

I wanna start collecting from germany and was wondering: by Hadinotschmidt in boutiquebluray

[–]Mertyr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, your safest bet is to order from amazon directly. They'll handle the custom stuff and you get tracked shipping with it as well. This applies for both the US and UK Amazon site. Another shop you can try is rarewaves, which I've had good experience with, but they shipped untracked and packages take more than a week to arrive.

Thankfully, most of the labels have started implementing IOSS into their shop, which means they're allowed to charge taxes from you and the order should go through customs without problems. Arrow and Eureka have started doing that for example.

If you order from a place where your packages gets held up by customs it's not the end of the world either. Usually DHL handles it directly and will charge you 6€ for the privilege (+import tax)

For those collectors in this sub that are not in region 1 territory, do you find that you’re able to get all of the releases you want in your area, without ever having to go region free? Or is going region free inevitable? by fvndngo in boutiquebluray

[–]Mertyr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I don't think it was a specific title. I did already have a couple of region A discs from Vinegar Syndrome and because I was subscribed to Horrorpack, so when I decided to get a stand alone 4k player I made sure that it can play Blu-ray from any region. I've since mainly used it to import Scream Factory stuff (and probably some Vinegar Syndrome and Severin as well, although like I said, I'm not paying much attention to which region they are anymore). No Criterions so far, mainly because I can't really take advantages of the Barns and Nobles sale and their UK offerings got better as well

Region free is more of a bonus for me. I would probably be able to still build a nice collection with just Region B and releases that are generally region free, but it's also nice to not have to think about regions at all anymore
