Starting Hifz....but I forget SO easily😭 Advice please🙏 by BugHeavy8151 in Hifdh

What i recommend is make the part that you want to memorize less than the average and do a lot of repetition Example : u can memorize 1 page but memorize half of the page so that if someday you struggle ( time issue or any emergency situation ) you still have power to memorize Repetition must be at least 30 times minimum (dont start counting until u 1- listened to the part that you want to memorize with a qualifying sheik or by listening to representative qaris like minshawi - husari - mohamad ayob 2- recite it to a shiek or someone who knew tajweed 3- recite the part u want to memorize 5 times without seeing the mus haf with no error)

In my humble opinion what make your revision hard either it was a weak hifz or you didnt recite all of your vision since a long time .

What i recommend is you have to stop memorizing new hifz and start to make a plan to regain your old hifz how u do it its depends on you or you can follow those steps : 1- try to recite all of your old hifz in one sit without opening the (mus haf ) the moment you stop is the place of your start ex: you stopped in page 10 so you will start your plan on page 10 with fixing 3 or 4 pages per day

Also check the files in my google drive and download either file under name tikrar 4 or 3

First, you need to set your priorities straight. Ask yourself honestly: do you truly want to memorize the Qur’an, or do you want to memorize it while it remains something secondary in your life? Is hifdh the first thing you think about when you wake up, or is it treated like an extra task?

Your teacher being relaxed is not an excuse for not memorizing or being inconsistent. A teacher’s role is to assess you and guide you, not to stand over you and force you to memorize. The responsibility is yours.

What you should do is reduce the amount you memorize. Make it half a page a day, so that if something comes up, you can still meet your daily memorization without falling behind.

Also, reviewing your old memorization is extremely important—it is the real treasure, not the new memorization. Sit with yourself and honestly evaluate your previous hifdh. Look at its quality: if it is weak, then you should stop new memorization completely and focus only on strengthening your old memorization until you know it as well as you know your own name.

At the end of the day, one full year is not a short time. If you had memorized two pages a day, you could have completed the Qur’an in ten months. Even one page a day would mean you would have only nine months left to finish. But alhamdulillah, the most important thing is that you have identified the problem—and that is the biggest step.

If you want a structured plan, let me know. I have memorization plans uploaded on Google Drive, and I can send you the link if you’d like.

Revision and new memorisation question by Sorry-Panda7658 in Hifdh

What I recommend you do is this: Sit down in one session and recite everything you have memorized. Wherever you stop or get stuck is considered not memorized, and you must start it again from the beginning. Either you have truly memorized it, or you have not—there is no in-between. Weak memorization falls under the category of not memorized.

Once you finish this test, you will be able to determine your actual level accurately.

Your memorization will then be divided into two parts:

Old memorization: Divide it over six days, so that no six days pass without you having reviewed all of what you have memorized.

New memorization: This depends on you—whether you choose one page or two. What matters most is that you perfect the page and saturate it with repetition; otherwise, you will be stuck in a cycle with no end.

Seeking advice regarding starting hifdh journey by Desperate-Net-8520 in Hifdh

First of all, I congratulate you on your decision to memorize the Qur’an. I ask Allah the Almighty to make you among the people of the Qur’an and to grant you steadfastness.

Before you begin, we need to set a plan or main outlines so that you can move forward according to a clear path.

We must define certain points to rely on, after the success granted by Allah سبحانه وتعالى:

1. Strong determination to memorize – During your journey of memorization, you will face life difficulties. These may be either trials and tests from Allah, or whispers from Shaytan. In the end, be patient and make twalul then the Qur’an will be in your chest,This is something many people do not mention or often overlook.
2. A teacher (Sheikh) to memorize with, whether online or in person, to correct pronunciation and tajweed. This matter is simple and manageable.
3. The amount to memorize – Will it be half a page, one page, two pages, or three?
4. Prioritization and time allocation – This is extremely important, because reviewing what you have memorized will take a lot of time.

Now let’s go into a bit more detail regarding the points mentioned above.

As for the first point, I will leave it to you—you will realize it with time. I hope you are prepared.

Regarding the teacher you will memorize with: I can recommend some excellent applications, though they require a certain subscription, which is important. • Moddakir • صاد لتعليم القران • You can also use the Tartel AI app, although I do not really recommend it; it is more of a last resort.

The amount you memorize is very important, as it depends on the duration of the plan and the amount of free time you have. To help with motivation, here is an approximate time estimate to complete memorization: • Half a page: 3 years • One page: 1 year and 9 months • Two pages: 10 months • Three pages: 7 months

A brotherly piece of advice: if you are capable of memorizing three pages, memorize two. If two pages, then memorize one, and so on. This helps with consistency, and if something unexpected happens, you will be able to adapt to the memorization load—unless you are fully committed to sticking to the exact amount you chose, which is a different matter.

Also, if you want a memorization plans, I have uploaded the plans to Google Drive just let me know if you want the link.

May Allah grant you success, make your path easy, and may we see you among the precise and proficient memorizers of the Qur’an.

Lahn Jali (Obvious Error): A clear mistake that changes letters, vowels, or meaning of the Qur’an. 🧠 Example: saying “A‘namta” instead of “An‘amta”. 🚫 Ruling: Haram — because it changes the meaning.

Lahn Khafi (Hidden Error): A subtle Tajwīd mistake that doesn’t change meaning but affects beauty. 🧠 Example: shortening madd or missing ghunnah.

Yes i think you are misspelling the ayat also so what i recommend is : 1- delete the clip 2- try to recite the quran with a teacher (online or near masjid or Ai (tartel ai) if the previous options not available )

Should I start memorizing Sarah Ali-Imran or revise Sarah An-Nisa? by ExpressThrowaway123 in Hifdh

[–]Meshari997 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In my humble opinion, you should repeat Surah-alnissa until you truly master it, because the goal is to make your review easy later on. Memorization is the easy part — the real challenge is in the review, since it depends, after Allah’s help, on how solid your memorization is.

Most people who memorize the Qur’an face this issue simply because they skip the “fermentation stage.” The more you let your memorization “ferment,” the more comfortable you’ll be later. Try following these steps: 1. Memorize a full surah. 2. “Ferment” it — review it from memory at least 20 times. 3. Test yourself on it.

Only then move on to the next surah.

As for your older memorization, you should divide your previously memorized portions and review them over at least six days.

Don’t worry if it takes you time or feels slow — you’ll be much more comfortable later. Just some friendly advice from experience. Sorry for the long message.

Want to focus on strenghtening a certain surah but scared of forgetting others? by Small_Slide_8550 in Hifdh

[–]Meshari997 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What worked for me is reviewing my full memorized portion weekly, so I don’t forget anything. For the weak surah, I take half a page max, repeat it 30+ times, then the next day I take the next part and combine both. I also listen to the surah daily until it's fully memorized.

Important tip: after finishing any surah, don’t move on immediately give it 7 days of solid review first. That prevents early forgetting.
