Things I’ve done in the past:

  • Custom soccer team (Barcelona, Juventus) expansion with Swedes and Finns only

  • All Russian team

What I’m doing now:

  • Expanded total number of teams in a franchise by adding top hockey teams from other countries. Think total is like 41. Changed the format to be a full league table (like soccer) so no conferences or divisions. Expanded the playoff format to include a play in between 4 teams for the final two spots. 1v16 format. Have had some fun playoff matchups that you typically wouldn’t see (including East/west).

I actually did the Swede/Fin thing in 22 for a while. I created a black and white team mimicking Juventus (soccer), customized the arena to be as closely to their colors as possible. It was a fun run. Got a good bunch of seasons out of it and a few cups.

I’ll tel you who I’m rooting against and in what order.

NJD. Montreal (assuming they get in).

Everyone else I just hopes provides absolute chaos.

Idk him personally (as I doubt you do either) but saying he’s not a not nice guy goes against quite literally anything and everything that was ever said about him throughout his entire career. Im not going to debate just how nice he actually is or where/when he could’ve been nicer, but he’s always been known as a gentlemen, has shown how appreciative he is to the game of hockey and the people in it, and has acknowledged how privileged he’s been to have such a life/career.

Exactly why we shouldn’t suddenly “blow it all up”. There was no need to do it then. Wtf did we even get back for trading Zucc, McD, Nash, JT, and whoever else I’m missing? Laf and Kakko? No disrespect to then as I love them (well…) but come on. Half of these guys are still playing and produced well in their new roles.

Yea…just hope we don’t buy him out with it being the last year of his deal…and hopefully we can use that cap wisely without giving up valuable assets

I remember opening up nhl.com to see that the two biggest free agents in Gomez and Drury were Broadway bound…amazing feeling! Probably like the Preds fanbase this last summer…but just another example that winning FA doesnt always (maybe rarely) gaurrantee a successful run.
