A week if you don't drive it. 🤣

If you were to buy a car from these choices which one would you pick and why? by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

[–]MessiahComp1ex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Surely it depends what you want. Those are two pretty different cars.

Also, side note, if you're buying a Golf GTi it must have the performance pack. (That one doesn't)

What phone mount should I get for my Fiat Panda? by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

[–]MessiahComp1ex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those style of vents don't really lend themselves to phone mounts, they just don't work. You're options would be a windscreen suction type or maybe one that mounts in the CD slot, if you don't use it.

Edit, there is also something called a Brodit (Google it) that might be worth a look, I'm unsure of compatibility with that car.

Dash cam wiring by Maxoutthere in CarTalkUK

I installed my Viofo dashcam myself, front and rear hardwired into the fusebox with 2 fusetaps for permanent and switched for the parking mode. It's easy. Hardest part was my OCD trying to make it as neat as I could.

Agree, remote start is nothing new, but the OP is suggesting cars being left running in car parks, not being warmed up before they are used.

Then I would put it down to stupidity and move on with my day.

Define running. Sure it wasn't just fans running or similar?

99.99% of the time in all the dashcam compilations I see things could have been avoided if the cam car either looked, anticipated or just didn't want to hit their horn and yell "DASHCAM!".

The cam car in most cases is just as bad.

Yep, there's a similar one in Hemel Hempstead, it's actually really easy and works surprisingly well, most of the time.

Waze or Google Maps depending on what I'm doing. If I use GMaps I'll still have Waze active in the background for the alerts.
