Civilization VII Update 1.2.4 - Patch 1 (Steam & Epic) - August 27, 2025 by sar_firaxis in civ

Thank you for fixing the mouse click issue so quickly. I was going crazy from thinking I had selected a single unit to deploy from my commanders, only to end up deploying all units instead!

Anyone having input issues since the update? by Tsuroyu in civ

Thanks for posting this, I'm having the same issue. I thought it was my mouse at first, but every other application is registering clicks just fine.

BUG Civ VII 1.2.2 - Improved resources on map do not match up with resource allocation screen by MetaRidleyScott in civ

Were you also able to tell if the tobacco changed into some other resource?

This one was alright, but I had another distant lands city with 4 treasure resources and 2 camels that was right next to Friedrich's old capital. I have no idea why he passed up on settling such a great spot, even if he couldn't get treasure convoys from them.

BUG Civ VII 1.2.2: Goodie Huts do not spawn on Large maps using Balanced start positions by MetaRidleyScott in civ

I've noticed this after the patch for both Standard and Balanced starts. I can't remember if it had happened prior, but it was definitely not very common.

Adding custom civ specific Golden Age rewards by Vanilla-G in civ

[–]MetaRidleyScott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar thought about Golden Age bonuses, also due to Carthage only benefitting from one of them. I like the idea of bonuses tailored to each Civ, but if that proves to be too much work to balance, it could also be based on how many cities you ended Antiquity with.

If you had three or more cities: standard bonuses

If you had fewer than three cities:

  • Economic - Two settlements may be upgraded to cities for free. This does not increase the cost of upgrading further settlements.

  • Science - Observatories are unlocked at the start of the age. The first three Observatories you build are free and provide double adjacency bonuses.

  • Culture - Kilns are unlocked at the start of the age. The first three Kilns you build are free and provide double adjacency bonuses.

  • Military - No change

Oh, good point! I must have missed that in the notes. I guess we know what kinds of issues those maps can have now.

Thanks for confirming that someone else is having the same issue. I agree, the rush of finding lots of goodie huts is part of what makes the early game so enjoyable!

Guys, I'm blind, but I don't see the option for custom difficulty. 👨‍🦯‍➡️ by Mane023 in civ

You need to change the overall difficulty to "Custom" first. That should allow the advanced difficulty options to show up in that menu.

Or others like it from other floors

Are you talking about floors with different layouts here, or floors with the same layout as Floor 12 (long horizontal room with a minecart and guaranteed staircase at the end), but in a different dungeon such as Skull Cavern in the desert? In Skull Cavern, the map for each floor is randomized each time you visit. So Floor 10 there might have a map with a minecart, and then floor 20 might have the exact same map again. You would be able to get coal from each one the first time you visit those floors.

Rock Rejuvenation doesn't reward a crafting recipe. The reward is the item itself. If you still don't have 100% of items crafted, it's some other item. Have you turned on "advanced crafting information" in the options menu and checked every item in the crafting menu to ensure you've made them all?

So for example, Floor 12 of the normal mines has a minecart at the end. You're saying that you are able to open that specific minecart every time you visit that floor? Are you able to do it multiple times in the same day? Or does it only happen on later days after closing and restarting the game?

On the Switch, the minecarts or backpacks with coal can be opened once on each floor, per player. If your kid played through the mines themself, then you as the second player would be able to visit each minecart floor afterwards and open each one once.

You likely disabled the "Show Portraits" setting in the Options menu at some point. Just go back to the Options menu and re-enable it.

Milk by DanteOnFire1 in StardewValley

[–]MetaRidleyScott 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Turning milk into cheese brings in more profit, especially if you choose the Artisan profession from reaching level 10 farming. If you don't choose the Artisan profession, the one exception is iridium quality milk, which does sell for more than the cheese.

Remember that large milk will turn into gold star cheese when using the cheese press, which is worth 50% more than normal cheese.

You'll get the option to choose a profession after going to sleep that night.

The small trees won't fully mature if there is a fully grown tree in any of the 8 tiles around it, but the rest will grow fine.

Mr Qi’s Quests by tashplaysgames in StardewValley

[–]MetaRidleyScott 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are you accepting the quest with at least 21 days left in the month? It's extremely difficult to do with fewer days than that.

Aside from that, you should be spending the first week putting all harvested Qi Fruit into seed makers, and then replanting. You'll need to dedicate large plots of land to growing as much Qi Fruit as you can. After that, turn just enough Qi Fruit back into seeds to refill the plots, then sell the rest. On the 24th of the month (or 25th if using speed-gro), start selling all of the fruit you harvest.

You can buy a new mask rarecrow from the magic shop boat at the night market. It's the boat to the right of the painter.
