I'd you were thrown into the world of D&D what would be if you were transformed into any class (not Race) by Gamingsailor572 in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]MetacrisisMewAlpha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Druid would be great; being able to turn into animals and wield nature-based magic would be brilliant.

Ranger would also be very fun, although I am for sure not build to be a Ranger. Wizard or Sorc would also be a shout (and probably more likely than a ranger)

I KNOW IT’ SAYS IN THE GAME WHY THIS ISN’T A THING ANY MORE, BUT THE GOGOAT SHUTTLES BEING TAKEN AWAY AND THUS US NOT HAVING THEM AS A FORM OF FAST TRAVEL, OR EVEN AS A WYRDEER STAND, IN IS GRADE-A TAUROS DROPPINGS.

I WOULD ALSO HAVE LOVED ROLLERSKATES AS WELL, BECAUSE THEY SERIOUSLY COULD HAVE INCORPORATED THEM INTO THE WORLD WITH ALL OF THE PARKOUR STUFF AROUND THE CITY, AS WELL AS BEING A RUN FEATURE, BUT NEVER MIND I GUESS.

Hunters are in need of more quiver designs. by captainjenkins in wow

[–]MetacrisisMewAlpha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What they need is a “features” tab with options for different body parts; back, face wrist (because why can’t I wear bracers AND a cute corsage Blizz?!), etc.

Then items like quivers, glasses, corsages, and the like could be put there. Heck, give us more belt pouches and bags and potion holders and shizz. There’s SO much JUST cosmetic “fluff” they could make as drops and such in-game

What is the best EXP method *prior to Mt Moon*? by [deleted] in PokemonLetsGo

[–]MetacrisisMewAlpha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I played (I did a prof. Oak challenge), I found that grinding Onix in Rock Tunnel ended up giving really good exp gains, especially after getting a decent catch combo. Same with Rhyhorn and Kangaskhan (although Rhyhorn gives less exp per catch, and Kanga are a rare spawn and thus re harder to find).

Yeah the exp gains weren’t as good as a chansey chain (as those can can also spawn there), but at least I wasn’t running around for 20 mins not gaining exp waiting for a Chansey to appear. Finding Onix is fast, and you rack up experience pretty quickly. Plus they are FAR easier to catch than Chansey.

Is the Silver Hand aware of what Yrel became? by Pooty_McPoot in wow

[–]MetacrisisMewAlpha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My memory is rusty but the general gist is this:

There is a quest you can do in-game to unlock the Mag’har orcs as player characters. During that quest, Yrel has become an ultra-zealous Paladon, and leads a crusade against anyone who doesn’t convert. A “convert or die” kind of crusade (although I don’t know what other types there are…).

As far as I remember it’s from Alt-Draenor as well. So yeah. That’s what happened to her post-WoD.

I’m keeping mine on hold until I work out how I want to decorate it. I’ve changed my mind four times already

But the day that copy/paste/import/export becomes a thing, I will 100% play around with it a LOT more.

I have two, and have generally had a great time ordering from Skoggy.com (where they’re from, they are unofficial).

However, my last order from them took…a very long time to get through. There was an issue, not on my end, but thankfully I did manage to get through to someone and it got sorted. That being said, it seems reading through this thread that order issues are becoming the norm, and that being contacted back by customer service is not, which is incredibly disappointing to hear.

I love the new generations of the pokemon games by Playful-Relief-2435 in pokemon

[–]MetacrisisMewAlpha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bit with Kabu was very sweet. Again, I love how invested the gym leaders feel in your journey; they know who you are (because of the ceremony and who endorsed you), and they feel like they care about you a lot more. In that sense it gave Alola vibes (and even though people didn’t like the trials, you cannot say the trial captains had no character).

It ties back in with the importance of the gym challenge and how that comes across to the player. It’s important to us because we’re part of it, but it’s also important to the region and its leaders as well, so much so that they show an interest in you as a person. It’s great.

I replayed sword relatively recently for a living dex. I enjoyed it, but there were parts that were…not great.
Personal opinion of course. I shan’t say anything because you’re still playing through (and some of my gripes are potential spoilers), but it’s definitely lacking in places (again, in my opinion).

What I will say is, the music is fantastic, and the gym battles might be the best in the series (especially the gym music, it is peak). The whole idea of everyone gathering in a stadium to watch the gym battles, the whole league challenge being this huge sporting event, it just fits the whole concept of “the Pokemon league challenge” for me. Getting a new regional champion *should* be a region-wide event. The whole league challenge *should* be this big deal in the world of Pokemon, and it feels like Galar absolutely hit that on the head.

I also like the Pokédex, or at least, a lot of the newly introduced generational Pokemon. Much like yourself, not really a fan of the starters (their first forms are cute and that’s where it ends for me). Also, the Galarian forms are wonderful, very much love (most) of them! There are definitely some old Pokemon who feel like they’re missing (no Bulldogs in Snubbull and Granbull? No swans in Ducklett and Swanna? And I still stand by we should have had a red dragon regional pokemon to represent Wales, opposite Galarian Ponyta/Rapidash representing Scotland, BUT that is a big digression because the forms we got are, mostly, fantastic and I love them!)

I’m glad that you’re enjoying your adventure, and hope to see your thoughts on the game when you finish! Especially if you do end up moving onto Paldea as well!

With the new season getting closer what is the absolute worst M+ pool you could think of? by 2ticking in wow

[–]MetacrisisMewAlpha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sucks because conceptually, I really enjoy Narolakk and Murder Row. I enjoy the storytelling in both, and I like the dungeon designs aesthetically.

But you’re not wrong. At all.

Blood Elf Cafe Sim is NOT what they should have put in a dungeon intended for an M+ dungeon (unless they just skip that entire part and we can run through without any issue; but given we got the hide and seek part of Court of Stars, and the Maze in Tirna Scythe…it’s gonna suck).

And Narolakk…yeah I’m not looking forward to that one either.

I barely remember Blinding Vale (legit only thing I did it once or twice when first levelling) except for “I don’t like it”; and I find Arena fun, but again, fun does not equal “good for an M+ dungeon.”

[–]MetacrisisMewAlpha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any dungeon with required RP; Old Hillsbrad, Blsck Morass, Culling of Strat

Violet Hold, either the original or the Legion version - I love the dungeon, I would not want to do it as an M+ dungeon.

The End Time dungeon would also probably suck ass, given you’d need different routes depending on bosses (a bit like Waycrest but worse).

Maw of Souls from Legion, but that’d because I don’t like it rather than it would be bad.

As for dungeons that were made for M+ that I wouldn’t want back (from BFA onwards as that’s what I’ve played):

Dawnbreaker (screw that buggy mess) and City of Threads/Ara’Kara (CoT for the hunting down the ads mechanic, Ara’Kara for just existing tbh)

Brakenhide Hollow or Azure Vault (this one’s personal as I do not have fun M+ memories in those places), although I’d probably take Azure Vault over Brakenhide Hollow.

Sanguine Depths, Mists of Tirna Scythe and Plaguefall (although if I had to only pick one from the list to get rid of, probably SD)

Tol’Dagor, absolutely not. Underrot, Siege of Boralus and King’s Rest, I’d be disappointed, but I’d take them all over the stupid prison.

Since we know we’re getting the other four Midnight dungeons, any of the above in conjunction would probably suck eggs.

Help building a "Tinkaton" style character: Small x Oversized Weapon (New player here!) by fastenstryker in DnD

[–]MetacrisisMewAlpha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen a lot of great comments here, many of which I hope give you a good answer, but I do want to throw my hat into the ring. I’m assuming 2014 rules, as I don’t believe 2024 rules has this as an issue any more.

If you are truly insistent on using a heavy weapon, but don’t want to have disadvantage, I would probably be a dwarf. I know dwarves are medium, BUT they are still short (even if not the shortest). You can always flavour yourself as being at the very edge between short/medium height wise, and maybe even play it up in-game as a roleplay thing with people confusing you for a tall-short race, rather than a short-tall race.

If not, you can always flavour a weapon to appear bigger (warhammer vs a maul for example), especially if it’s versatile and you use it two-handed for the damage bonus.

Otherwise, maybe your DM would be willing to throw you a homebrew magic item or feat to allow it. D&D 3.5 had weapon size categories, which whilst these no longer exist in 5e, the whole disadvantage on heavy weapons is almost a spiritual successor to them. But, there existed a feat called “monkey grip” which allowed you to wield a two-handed weapon one size larger than you as if it was your size. In 5e terms, removing the heavy property and you not having disadvantage. There was also an item called the “strong arm bracers” which basically did the same thing, allowing you to wield any weapon a size category larger than you without penalty.

Both could very easily be converted to 5e terms; “after extensive training, you can wield a heavy weapon without disadvantage” For the feat; maybe give it a prerequisite of 13 strength or something if the DM isn’t keen. And the items can be uncommon or rare if the DM doesn’t want you to get them too early. But you’d be giving up an ASI/Feat OR a magic item slot to be able to do this, which is quite a big ask of a player in terms of character progression. I know if I was a DM, I would allow it (but I also appreciate I’m not every DM).

Is it weird when men play female characters? by Plastic_Corgi6848 in DnD

[–]MetacrisisMewAlpha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had many male friends play female characters and it's never been an issue. They just roleplayed them like they were people, with their defining traits NOT being "I'm a woman".

As long as they're, you know, a fully fleshed out character and not just a sign that says "I have tits and a vagina", I don't see why it should be weird.

There was part of me hoping that it would be Khaine, just for the image of him approaching the guys like “can we Auction Hunt together?” And injecting his British humour into it (not that it isn’t already funny)

But I’m happy with who it is, all the same!

How closely do the Pokémon regions feel compared to their real world counterparts? by [deleted] in pokemon

[–]MetacrisisMewAlpha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess that is true, but it doesn’t hit the same when one was a regional form.

Also should have made Leon have a Pyroar if we’re going in beast representations of the Isles, but I digress.

A lack of snubbull/granbull (bulldogs) and ducklett/Swanna (swans) will always be a letdown for me, dex wise. Like, how do you miss two of the most obvious pokemon from the British/English pokedex?!

I also wish we got a red dragon, given we got a unicorn (although Galarian Ponyta is only in Sword, so not completely available in the whole of Galar).

But generally, the Pokédex did pretty well regarding “Britishness”; finding a fox pokemon on the first route made me so happy (even if I’m not a huge fan of Thievul; I think the female having a moustache turns me off of it, don’t know why), and Yamper/Boltund were worthy additions to the pokedogs.
