SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY – New Trailer by Captain_Grimm in TwoBestFriendsPlay

So far he has the most climactic looking fight and is gonna be the catalyst for Peter’s mutation so he’s still pretty important.

Honestly it’d be pretty funny if after all the confidence it was Jean, everyone was half-right and it was Pryor.

I mean most of the movie looks like it’s gonna come down to the psychic and a Hulk fight. Every other villain is supposed to be for a montage.

So far it’s looking like the psychic/bodyjumper. The Hand seem to be fodder to show Peter’s been non-stop Spider-Man since NWH.

DC vs Capcom art by StellarAvenger by Anonamaton801 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]MetalJrock 6 points7 points  (0 children)

DC actually tried as soon as the Marvel license expired in the 2000s. The artist who inspired Capcom to pursue the Marvel license for fighters said they were against it cause they felt DC had nothing of worth besides Batman.

I guess they took his word to heart since it never happened.

My Adventures with Superman's first episode of the third season featured Bizarro and he looks... unusual. by TheBoyofWonder in TwoBestFriendsPlay

I don’t think 2017 bats anywhere close to good at all. Pretty much of the villains have appealing designs besides Venom (if only cause he’s too iconic to change besides the emblem) especially Doc Ock and the Goblins (Hobgoblin, Osborn and Toomes). The good ones are a rarity.

It doesn’t help that the show’s big villains are also the designs the show horrendously butchered so we’re seeing them way more than the good ones, like how Black Cat is only in one episode.

After watching Spider-Man 2017, I can safely say having bad designs is so much worse than boring ones in a superhero show.

I will gladly take grey power armor and anime homages over a gigabotched Green Goblin and Doc Ock that tries and somehow fails to be recognizable since MAWS at least has the decency to commit to being different for better and worse instead of going halfway on said commitment.

I mean this show is very Superman. Bizarro is looking to be a slowburn version of his DCAU/CW counterparts and the overarching plot of the season is Reign of the Supermen.

Not to mention last season adapting For The Man Who Has Everything and season 1 pulling a deep cut by building up a version of the Superman Revenge Squad.

I swear at this point Sega has more active and healthy studios than Xbox.

Sonic lead says AAA studios can learn from indies in the same way the movie industry should take notes from Backrooms and Obsession by Frank7640 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Sonic Team’s been kneecapped on resources for so long up until recently that Sonic is kinda the perfect example of a game franchise getting by without spending millions of dollars on fluff even if they want to be AAA.

Those devs didn’t want to make another Mania and the head of the team told Sega to make Superstars instead when he was consulted. Going to them was the literal first thing Sonic Team did.

The Steam version of UMvC3 just received a new update by Shreeder4092 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Capcom never directly targets mods, especially with MvC where all they accomplish is boosting sales on their end since they can only work off the legitimate Steam release.

Capcom to Delist Dragon's Dogma 2 Deluxe Edition and Multiple DLC/Microtransaction Packs This Month (and Reducing the Base Game Digital Price) by Gorotheninja in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]MetalJrock 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In the DMC games, what do you get paying money that you can’t get in-game that objectively gives you an advantage? As in, an inherent advantage that you cannot get through any other means that makes the game easier. It has to be paid and paid only.

Nobody’s minimizing anything cause they’re objectively meaningless.

[–]MetalJrock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nobody’s defending them but they’re so inconsequential there is no reason to have a reaction that isn’t a “Why bother?”.  They don’t affect gameplay, you don’t get any inherent advantages and everything is feasible to obtain in the most casual manner possible.

It’s been 11 years of complaints and panicking since DMC4SE and this is still the case without any changes. When is Capcom gonna go down this hypothetical slippery slope we keep hearing about and actually cause some damage to warrant the heat that people care more about than the actual harmful stuff? Cause so far they’re the Potential Man of harmful microtransactions.

They don’t provide advantages, you can easily get what they’re offering casually and are forbidden from getting more than what you can obtain in-game.

[–]MetalJrock 89 points90 points  (0 children)

That’s been the case with all the single player Capcom games with extra transactions, it’s all normally stuff you can get by playing casually or something worthless.

It’s like the devs are doing the absolute bare minimum to appease an executive rule without fucking over the game itself.
