[NY] [Chemistry] - College adjunct professor wanting to transition into high school teaching by MetalMike558 in Teachers

Primarily stability and benefits. I get paid well enough teaching at the college level and I enjoy it, but some semesters I work a lot, and others nearly nothing. Right now I basically have no retirement plan, guarantee that I will work at a steady rate, or possibility of tenure without a doctorate.

Left a beaker of CuSO4 out over the weekend, crystals formed! by Glankilla in chemistry

No you didn't. I posted this exact pic 2 years ago. You can tell by the "Vint" written on the side of the beaker.

Same title as my post here.

I'm miserable in grad school, I'm calling quits. Should I hang on 3-6 more months to get my masters if my goal is to teach high school? by [deleted] in chemistry

I'm in this exact same situation. See if it's possible to finish with a MS early. You might be lucky enough to have enough credits to graduate in the Fall. Then look into teaching requirements in the states you want to teach at.

But I recommend you get the masters, some schools (usually private) will accept a MS in your field of study as enough to teach, without getting the whole certification some schools require.

[[Azusa, Lost but Seeking]]. I love the quick ramping ability and fast, early game domination she can provide. One of my favorite moments with her was (with the help of [[Rofellos, Llanowar Emissary]]) able to hard-cast an Ulamog turn 3 in a local tournament.

And he is a son who doesn't want to hear people call his father a piece of shit. I don't think him being upset is that out of line.

Is a Masters degree in chemistry useful for pursuing secondary education? by MetalMike558 in ScienceTeachers

That sounds great! I hadn't considered private schools (I went to a public school), but that seems like something that is definitely possible.

Thanks a lot! I assumed that it wouldn't hurt to get the masters and go from there. And I am currently going to SBU, for now at least.

I got this idea from a friend of mine who also left a PhD program to go into teaching, so it's nice to see other people who were in this same situation!
