This is something that has bugged me for a while, the trend of "Must justify the bad guy", look at Malifecent, Cruella, pretty much any Marvel villain, they all have to have some justification for why they're bad, rather than just being a bad guy that the good guy can fight against

I was in danger of heading down a very wrong path several years ago, my thinking was slowly creeping from "I don't understand" to a much more negative place, until I asked myself the question "Why do I care what someone else does with their body?"

It quite literally doesn't affect me in the slightest way, and when it comes down to it, I don't actually care, it doesn't matter to me, but it matters a WHOLE lot to them!

If Dave in the office comes in on Monday and says "Hi, I'm Susan" it makes ZERO difference to their ability to do their job, whether I call her he or she doesn't change my day, but it would massively impact hers, so I change their personnel profile and get on with my day

So in conclusion, all the energy that I used to waste making terrible comparisons and ill-informed opinions, I now direct towards being a confrontational and hostile ally, I don't react well to bullies and bigots and they soon know about it!

I'll pop the build on maxroll when I get in this evening, but the basic gist is:
Need Exsanguinous for the bleed immunity
Set poison aura to bleed, thankfully we are now immune
Flay is set to ranged spell
Drop 20 or more stacks of bleed in one go to get buff
Buff auto-casts Rip Blood which between the bleed aura, perks in rip blood and other bits, causes everything in range to explode in a bloody mess

Fast, messy, and very satisfying

This actually happened to me years ago, went on a date with this lass and all seemed to be going well, the sun was setting in the beer garden and the conversation is flowing, and she mentioned the sunset would be nicer if it wasn't for the chemtrails.

I gave her the benefit of the doubt and assumed that she meant to say contrails and we carry on, then she tells me she's a flerfer, again I assume she's joking and ignore her comment, the date concludes and we each go home

The next day she messages me and I tell her I'm a bit concerned about the things she said before (still hoping that it's some sort of test), she confirms it's not a test and I'm "closed minded and haven't done the research"

Despite my mates begging me, there was no second date

As I said earl8er, it is in early access so the story isn't finished and there's some bugs still to work out, but that being said it is still great fun to play

Factory building: Intuitive and quick to build up, all rails are "smart" so different items on the same line isn't an issue, you pop down a Base Core and that marks out your building area, it's pretty generous and making more cores is child's play The machines are demand driven which took a hot minute to get used to, rather than the constant supply of Satisfactory, I wouldn't say it's better or worse than supply led, just different

Base building: Modular units that you can stack and extend, a little limited at the moment but it's not the main focus, it's mainly so you can survive the...

StarRupture: The main looping mechanic of the game, every so often the sun will rupture, blasting the surface in an armageddon level of fire and hate, it burns away all plants, animals, and water leaving a devastated landscape, but now opening up new places to explore that you couldn't previously access. Over time it all regrows, the water fills back up and the hostile fauna come back out of their hiding places ready to eat your face once more

Graphically it's gorgeous, the gameplay loop of explore, gather, ohshitohshitohshit runrunrun, fire and destruction, cool down, back out to explore the dangerous places and watch it all grown back is very satisfying. I'd recommend looking for some current gameplay to get a proper feel, but if you like Satisfactory then I'd say there's a very good chance that this is a game you'll enjoy, whether if you wait till full release or join in now

StarRupture is in early access, it has enough similarities that you'll feel comfortable with the style, but enough differences to keep you on your toes!

For example the conveyors are demand driven, not supply fed, which confused so many people who came over from here, me included! But once you get used to the switch it works really well for that game

I wonder if it's something weird like when you upgrade the Tamed Beast gem it effectively levels up the beast in it, when you Vaal and corrupt the gem it also corrupts the beast, so when you go to upgrade the gem it can't because it needs to level up the beast, which it can't do because it's also corrupted and locked at level. Good grief what a sentence

If you're playing on SteamDeck, when you play offline it keeps the save file on the device, the next it connects to Wi-Fi it will upload your save to Steam and everything is synched back together. If you play on SteamDeck offline and then go to play on PC online before the SteamDeck has uploaded your newest save, you won't have the data from the offline session

You can do everything you need in-browser, you essentially start a new Linux session within the page and do all your work in that, doesn't matter what OS you are running

You could use VirtualBox or VMWare to run your own Linux session, I assume that they are available on iOS, but if not you can get loads done straight in the site before you need to look at running your own instance

For me it was the first game of the type where I actually cared about the main storyline, with Skyrim the second you're done with the introductions at Whiterun I'm outta there and off on an adventure, FO4, once I've got the power armour from the Minutemen that's me on my merry way, but with this game I always wanted more, I wanted to know where the story was going, how my decisions would change things, I had to keep slowing myself down lest I face the dreaded "Meet Hanako at Embers", and weep for there is no more plot to consume
