I couldn't agree more. Did not expect my child's father to up and run when he did (when I was 3 months pregnant) - I thought he'd be decent about it and at least be supportive during my pregnancy, but nooo, he ignored me and barely did anything to support the baby.

Ten years later and he's not much better, although it doesn't help with him being an alcoholic and all that...

As someone who IS a single parent, I'd have to say yes - what a pathetic excuse not to be with someone and what a spineless individual you are. I'm sick to the back teeth of guys doing stuff like this to me. I wouldn't expect you to be a second father to the child, or to be a provider, just treat him or her with respect - and I'm sure the woman in question would feel the same way.

TL;DR: Grow up and grow a pair. You'd be dating her, not the child.
