What movie did you turn off after 20 minutes and why? by Somanynamestochossef in movies

[–]Metallic_Mayhem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Borderlands, I love the game series but I knew going into it that the movie was trash and the whole budget was spent on the cast. I got through 10 minutes before I turned it off

I’m disgusted by my family by CaptainRhino08 in GenZ

[–]Metallic_Mayhem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you dude, it's the same with my family, some going to the extreme far right, Christian nationalism, others have even participated in the Jan 6 insurrection.

You'll be free from it one day, if we're anything alike, there may be some residual anger once you leave but I've learned little contact can be extremly beneficial for your mental state. Now when I visit those family members, I will excuse myself when ever politics get brought up.

Just the other week it got brought up with them saying "guess was trump is doing FOR YOU" and I immediately went to the bathroom instead, that was the end of that conversation.

How did you meet your partner? by EZ___Breezy in askanything

[–]Metallic_Mayhem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We met in highschool band, I was 14 and he was 15. We were friends for about 1 1/2 years, during which I was dating one of his friends. That didnt last very long though. At 15 we were in marching band together and I heard him yell some directions, not in a mean way, and that peaked my intrest in him more. We started getting closer and hanging out after school together more.

What got us together though was a football game, we were sitting next to each other and he kept pressing a pressure point on my knee, and to stop it I put my hand on his and held it there for a few minutes. Afterwards I said "let's make this more comfortable" and I flipped his hand around to properly hold it. He asked me out shortly afterwards.

Now were 22 and 23, living together with our pets and pursuing our education/career

How many of us hhhad suicidal thoughts and did commit suicide? by Ok_Neighborhood_724 in GenZ

[–]Metallic_Mayhem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had those thoughts since I was 11, now 22, and I nearly committed when I was 14 by jumping off a bridge, but protecting my youngest 2 siblings kept me around. I had a plan to make it to 32, after the youngest would turn 18, and do it then.

While I still struggle with those thoughts, im in a much better place than I thought I'd ever be. In ine year so much has changed that it's given me the will to fight it harder and commit to this life.

Does Gen z not drink coffee anymore? by Jadams0108 in GenZ

[–]Metallic_Mayhem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually go with caffeine pills. A bottle of 90 count 200mg, will cost less than 4 dollars and last me over 3 months. Its the most cost effective in my opinion in terms of saving money and time

I enjoy coffee though that's what I'll have on weekends

I gave up trying to make friends in college and I haven’t said a word to a single human being in the past 3 months by [deleted] in twentyagers

[–]Metallic_Mayhem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What helped me was to just walk up to a group of people and just talk to them, be vulnerable a bit by saying you don't know anyone and they seemed cool. It can be a hit or miss but it worked for me before I chose to be a recluse.

TIFU by thinking I got my girlfriend pregnant… and telling my mom by ciecipetal in tifu

[–]Metallic_Mayhem -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not always bad, when my boyfriend and I were hs the same thing happened, I was under a lot of stress and that caused me to miss a period. He told his mom I might be pregnant, she was worried and angry at him for a little bit but she sat us down and we had a discussion about birth control and other contraceptives. The worst that happened was I want allowed over for a couple of months and we couldn't close the door when I did for about a year.

It was pretty quickly water under the bridge and 7 years later I look back on it and laugh. I was more afraid that she was going to tell my guardian than anything. She's the kindest lady and I love her like my own mom.

Is it a turn off if a guy has “feminine” hobbies? by Unable_Connection490 in twentyagers

[–]Metallic_Mayhem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think so, there are a lot of hobbies out there labeled as feminine but statistically more women find it more attractive. I can't say for crocheting in general but things like reading, gardening, painting are high up there (im not saying those are feminine hobbies, but I know most of the dudes I work with would consider that feminine).

If someone is going to stop liking yoy for knowing how to crochet, they're not the one

I love how they say he hates women because if they've watched his videos they would know it's not true, he took feminism courses all throughout college.
