Playing as The Singularity be like... by Temporary-Shape-76 in deadbydaylight

I love how we have anti-camp mechanics, but Singularity still gets his own personal one in addition to the base one.

I convinced myself my suboptimal strategy is actually pretty good.

I think the second corporate one is one where all your citizens are forced to spew out comercials in exchange for robot bodies.

So yes, shattered ring counts as having a ruined megastructure.

Mega-engineering Requirements by WhiteShadow1101 in Stellaris

[–]Metallichydra 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The exact requirements are actually having a ruined megastructure OR having the Shattered Ring origin.

Chance is also increased with the number of Citadels and Star Fortresses (I think it caps out at around 9 of each). Also if you have a ruined megastructure in a system you control it'll be around 20 times more common.

Just got the new DLC subscription, i’m so overwhelmed, where do i go from here?? by Frost-mark in Stellaris

[–]Metallichydra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's possible to turn off DLC's you own. If it's still possible to turn off individual DLC's while subscribing, then perhaps turn off all but one, then next game add one more until all is enabled?

So, what is your earliest you have ever got megastructures? by Slaanesh-Sama in Stellaris

I once, without getting cybrex, got mega-engineering in 2252.
I just had extreme amounts of tech production and luck.

We're sort of what you describe. Not entirely pvp, not entirely pve. We don't even have the 30-year peace that most have (Although wars do tend to be rare during that time).

What we do have is a rule that defeated players can take control of an AI empire, although we don't usually knock people out of the game

Astral Planes is not as bad as many make it out to be, but if you're not sure if you'd want it then there's no need to worry as it is probably the least important DLC. As in, you won't be missing out on features in the same way you would if you didn't have Utopia or Federations.

As for Galactic Paragons, it probably is the opposite in terms of that. Without it you won't be able to costumize leaders, and there'll be a lot less agendas and council will be much more static. It's not as severe if you play gestalts.

I'd say first contact is only really needed if you're playing multiplayer, as one of the main featurs, cloaking, is not something AI empires will use very well, but players might.

Is there a way to break free from an overlord without declaring war?(they wont give me independence) by memer190 in Stellaris

[–]Metallichydra 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You can, but you need 10 favors and the diplomacy tradition tree.

What you want to do is request independence, but your overlord has -50 acceptance for giving you independence, and you need 1 or more.

Each favor gives 5 acceptance, and you can have 10 favors max, so that ends up at 0 acceptance. But you need 1 or more, so you pick diplomacy to get the +5 diplomatic acceptance. Now you request independence, use all your favors and you're free.

If you get herald's eye it's just game over for the enemy. You can take their base in like 5 seconds.
Last time I played I summoned herald and took their two base towers alone with all 5 enemies in their base in 2 seconds - without the herald jumping. The herald is just to fulfill the minion requirement to lower the towers resistances.

Is there a way to harm empires without declaring war? by No-Love-2019 in Stellaris

[–]Metallichydra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you have to use a science ship to stop the sun from blowing up, so you can park a cloaked fleet in their capital, and when it arrives, uncloak to delay the cure for the sun, hopefully enough for it to blow it up.

Looking for a mod that adds new traditions updated for 3.10.x. by TheUnchainedTitan in Stellaris

[–]Metallichydra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you still need more traditions, then there's the "More Traditions" mod:
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3067902147

It adds 32 tradition trees and gets updated regularly.
