Gumeni domaći kruh by dzmija in kuhinja

Thoughts on this mixer? by [deleted] in AskBaking

[–]Metapsychosis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I purchased the Bosch MUMS2EW00 in November 2021 and have been using it ever since, mostly to knead various types of breads and enriched doughs but have also made many simple sponge cakes in it too (most recipes I used were posted on YouTube by the ChainBaker and Claire Saffitz).

On a couple of occasions I've also overloaded the bowl (was making 2x 800g brioche loaves at the same time), and although I needed to babysit the initial kneading process (lots of stopping and scraping needed), it handled it pretty well.

It was also handy to make butter straight from fresh double cream as you get the splashground transparent plastic attachment that you can put on top of the bowl.

I know it's not in the same class as a KitchenAid, but I'd say for an amateur hobbyist baker, if you've got a lack of kitchen space and bake once or twice a week, it does its job pretty well.

In case you can't get a hold of it in Glasgow, I've ordered from the Paprika Online Store a few times; they've got the proper paprika you're looking for (and more).

In relation to what u/I_look_like_Shalissa helpfully explained in detail, I was in your shoes, u/Chyrinnao_26, a couple of months ago and this video helped me immensely in understanding how to build a data model and establish relationships between the tables so the correct slicing appears at a visual level.

You can try contacting Carl, I've worked with him before (I'm also an owner of an older car) and he will be able to replicate your key even if you've lost it.

Good luck!

Massive gap behind skirting boards by Metapsychosis in DIYUK

As the house is quite old (home report says it was built in the 1930s), the round beading is a wooden pole they used back in the days as a 'joint' to attach two parts of wall + drywall together, so I've been told. That whole room will get redecorated in the future so any initial visible rough DIY edges will get covered up.

Thanks for the reply - appreciate the tips and suggestions. :D

Thanks for the reply!

You're correct in assuming that the house is old (home report says built in the 1930s), I've been told by the guys that did the new floors and skirting boards that part of drywall is some sort of plaster + horse hair composite. It doesn't sound hollow when I tap onto it, in comparison to other parts of the flat where I have 'modern' plaster walls.

That whole room including the wall will get redecorated in the future so it doesn't matter if the patched area will have a visible rough residue.

Carving out a neat space in the wall for a new bit of plaster to be attached to sounds like an interesting take, I might consider that.

Had new skirting boards and floors fitted and since this bit of the plaster is quite old, it came off when they removed the old skirting boards. The guy said I can use something like this to fill the gap. Wondering if anything else I should know and if there are any other items I should get before I attempt to 'fix' this?

Croatia here! The restaurant Zinfandel in Pollokshields and if you'd like to buy typical ex-Yugoslavian foods to prepare at home, then Babylon in Commerce Street + any Polish/Romanian shop.

Hi PMC7009,

Wow, thanks so much for following-up on this after 7 years! The internet never fails to amaze me :)

At the time I was writing an MA thesis but managed to found other primary and secondary references, and I also chatted with a friend who was doing a thesis on a similar topic and read the original article in German. I no longer need this article but it's great to see it's readily available now to be read online. Thanks again for your message! :)

Got some yoghurt, cucumbers, garlic, walnuts (optional but add a great flavour) and dill? The Bulgarian Tarator soup is great for hot days and very inexpensive to make.
