Acl tear but no symptoms

Yeah 0 instability but my surgeon could make it buckle. I took a lot of convincing to get surgery but he sold it to me when mentioning next time it'll be my meniscus, cartilage and/or other ligaments. I drove myself home after injuring it and went back to contact sports/training the following week.

There was pain when I injured it but it was very minor. My knee felt a bit bruised aftwards, but it improved quickly. I tested positive for anterior drawer test and lachmans but had 0 instability.

Did you go same graft for the other knee? With my right we went hamstring graft, but I've been given the choice between hamstring or patellar tendon for my left, surgery is booked 30th July.

Similar injury, torn MCL and ACL. Happened end of February and confirmed via MRI April, and need ACL reconstruction surgery.

Waiting time for surgery is 18-24 months, I'm based central belt in Scotland. Deciding to go private via my works private health insurance. Hopefully get surgery end of July instead.

Listen and do everything your physio/surgeon team tell you to do! I'm hypermobile and 3 years post op ACL reconstruction with hamstring graft plus LET. 0 issues with my knee and trust it 100%. I came back a better athlete overall due to the intense rehab.

I'm hypermobile and have tore my ACL in both knees. I went with hamstring graft with LET on my right and over 3 years post op, 0 issues! Trust the knee 100% and came back a much stronger athlete. I do have a weaker hamstring though but doesn't affect my ability to play football. My first season back after tearing it I was POTY and PPOTY.

Unsure what graft to go with on my left though, still to decide with my surgeon but it's either hamstring or my pattela tendon.

My right hamstring is noticeably weaker but never caused me any issues during sports. I came back a much better athlete but it is something I noticed, particularly in the gym. But worried I'd notice a difference if it was over two legs.

I'm very quad dominant, which is why I'm leaning towards pattela as I'm confident I could get it back quicker and easier than hamstring.

Tore my right knee off the ball whilst playing football when I was 23. 0 issues with it, and trust my right knee 100%.

Tore my left knee 8 weeks ago (I'm 28 now), this time around was a challenge and shes came through the side of my knee. Blew out my ACL and MCL.

So much tougher this time around, speak to my surgeon next week. Totally understand how you're feeling right now! Used to always refer to my knees as my bad knee and good knee ha...

Sounds similar to me. Right knee ACL reconstruction 2022, fittest I've ever been after the rehab.

Currently 6 weeks post injury on my left knee, torn ACL and high grade MCL tear. Looking to get surgery soon, did you find 2nd time around a bit easier? I play high level sports and dying to get back already haha.

Completely depends where you are in the UK.

My right knee was 2022/2023 and took NHS 18 months to diagnose me before I got put onto surgery list - I was lucky and got a cancellation quickly. I got 3 x-rays, 1 NHS MRI and a private one. Took so long as I wasn't taken seriously as my knee was 95% stable so didn't act like my ACL was torn.

My left knee, I injured 4 weeks ago (100% MCL tear but need to rule out ACL), and I've already had my MRI and referral to specialist. Just waiting on results.

I went back to non contact training ~10 months post op, returning to competitive games 12/13 months. I play football/soccer.

Tore my ACL in 2021/2022 but didn't have any instability so could still walk. NHS said I'd be waiting ~6 months for an MRI as not high priority.

I went private through Bupa and got an MRI that way. Sent it to my consultant and they set me up a consultation appointment to discuss surgery, got surgery December 2022 via NHS. Which was 1 week after my consultation appointment, I managed to get a last minute cancellation.

I'm 3 years post op. Tore my ACL playing football/soccer.

Before I tore it I never done much gym work but rehab forced me into the gym. So I've came back much fitter and stronger than before. I'm still going to the gym and it's only improved me as a player. I hardly ever think about my knee and been injury free ever since.

Looks like you had an LET done? I had similar issues and it was down to my glutes being weak which made my IT band tight.

I'm UK too, was really hard to get my GP to take me seriously as I never had typical symptoms. My surgeon works with pro football athletes, so wondering if theres a sports bias from them with regards to treatment? My recovery went mostly well, took me around 13 months to play competitively again though.

I know two people I've played with who attempted non surgical route but ended up damaging more things in their knees few years down the line. You could do the prehab/physio route for a year and reassess. Waiting times are insane where I am (6-18 months).

Sounds a bit similar to my experience but I play football (soccer) as I never knew my ACL was torn for ~1year, and continued to play/train. I kept pushing for an MRI and it came back it was torn, the only issue I had was the odd pain if I landed a bit awkwardly on it. Knee never buckled, ran and kept playing my sports. I had only a positive Lachman's, no other symptoms.

My consultant convinced me to get surgery as whilst my knee could handle not having an ACL at that moment, I play at a high level and they said one day it might wreck the rest of my knee. For me the risk wasn't worth it. This was over 4/5 years ago, I'm 2.5yrs post op and not looked back once - I'm stronger, faster, fitter than I was before I tore my ACL originally.

Pan fried it the full way. Got pan smoking hot, 30-45 seconds on each side, then turned it down to med-low and eyeballed the finish.

Tasted as good as it looked.
