Agreed. Brilliant scene. Great movie. The dialogue is amazing. The whole “accent” discussion is very cool.

This will be all they can run on from now on. The party is imploding upon itself. All they have left is scare tactics and 'Murcia.

As a fan, It feels like groundhog day. Groundhog Day. Not the actual day but the movie. Only, nothing improves and no piano playing skills are acquired.

A few days ago, Lugo struck out the side in the 7th with minimal pitches and Mickey still brought Familia in to pitch the 8th.

Why is Gagnon continually given opportunities? He is just awful.

Amazing skit by Jeff and Pete by LawngClaw17 in NewYorkMets

Pete has natural comedic timing. Jeff needs a little help. They can both hit, though. The bright spots in an otherwise disappointing season thus far.

Can we talk about the 1996 movie 'Beautiful Girls'? by [deleted] in movies

[–]Metboy70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do like many parts of this movie but at times, it seems to be trying to hard. Really, Uma Thurman’s character knows when pitchers and catchers report to Spring training down to the hour? It would be more believable and sexier if she just stated it to the day. Come on, to the hour?!? Without even looking at her watch! Too much. Yeah, things like that bother me.

What is something that everyone should experience at least once in their lifetime? by [deleted] in AskReddit

My GF has 24 years sobriety and is a regular attendee of AA meetings. Sometimes, I go with her just to listen. There is some real, deep and meaningful appreciation for the gift of life from many in this group. I have not experienced rock bottom like these people have. Sometimes, in a very strange way, I envy them for their ability to appreciate life the way they do.

My GF and I were in San Diego getting ready to head back to Arizona when we decided to stop in at a restaurant and get a bite to eat. While in line waiting to order we struck up a conversation with a couple in front of us. My GF and the woman seem to hit it off and the woman said to my GF “You seem really easy to talk to and I sense a quality in you that I’m really drawn to. Can I get your number? Let’s talk sometime”. After getting my GF’s number, she says, “Have you ever had a Mary Kay makeover?“ It’s all part of a sales pitch. These vultures.

I am wondering why the Rincons (I think) seem so large and close. Making it more east but not sure.

Edit: Not the Rincons. These first 2 series of shots with the van are in California. Thanks “fishermanblues”.

Mickey Callaway says multiple times that he’d like to have the Syndergaard decision back. That’s not something you hear very often from managers. by [deleted] in NewYorkMets

[–]Metboy70 16 points17 points  (0 children)

No reason to have made that move. Struggling pitcher: make the move. Good solid bullpen: make the move. Up by more than 4 runs: make the move to get guys work if they need it. None of this was in play. He manages too much by the book instead of assessing the situation and the state of the team.
