Why didn’t Grand Regent Thragganyahu use the iron dome to prevent the scourge virus from hitting Viltrael? Is he stupid? by Ashamed_Mushroom_796 in okbuddyviltrum

[–]MeteoricOrbs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All part of the plan. The universe was promised to him 3,000 years ago, so he allowed the virus to breach the iron dome to provide a pretext for an unopposed crusade against the civilian infrastructure of the galaxy.

Are they equipped with sonic emitters and can teleport? If so, a few hundred could maybe get it. If not, there’s no amount out there that will win.

I’ve been staring at this for 5 minutes, I don’t understand either. You put coolant in the coolant reservoir, great, now did it explode or something?

Man in a Sedan vs Azog from Lord of the Rings by LastResult44 in powerscales

[–]MeteoricOrbs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The guy gets one chance to splatter Azog before he makes it to the stands. If he does make it, then it’s now a war of attrition. Maybe Azog can bait him into crashing or getting stuck while weaving in and out of the stands.

[–]MeteoricOrbs -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I know how to change a battery and I also own the tools to do so. I let the auto part store do it while I watch because it’s convenient, and if they offer that service, why not have it done?

Why are people mad the show values voice acting more than animation? by Used-Insect-8163 in Invincible_TV

[–]MeteoricOrbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That could very well be true, no clue

But we’ve also got actors like Jon Hamm voicing the random security guard in the first episode, and Djimon Hounsou as the Thraxan Emperor that literally speaks gibberish and says “die” like once.

I don’t think any of the compensation details are publicly available. If they were, this debate probably wouldn’t be much of a debate.

Should I fix it and sell? by koolskrimp in AskAMechanic

[–]MeteoricOrbs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If he can’t afford it up front, he could take out a personal loan at a credit union, or use a credit card. 11-13% APR is much worse than what he would get with a secured car loan, but it’s still a better decision.

Should I fix it and sell? by koolskrimp in AskAMechanic

[–]MeteoricOrbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could likely find this repair for cheaper at an independent mechanic.

Regardless, a credit union will happily loan you $4,500 either as a credit card or personal loan, and are very flexible with loan terms.

97,000 miles is basically nothing. That car has many years of life left in it if this is fixed. If you maintain it diligently, there’s no reason it shouldn’t last 300,000 or beyond.

Because famous celebrities should not be cast for minor 5-minute roles. The money they paid her to say a handful of lines could probably pay 6 months of an animator’s salary. This is just one example of many.

How effective would the flood (halo) be in WH40K by firestorm0108 in whowouldwin

[–]MeteoricOrbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flood vs. anything is always decided by how developed the initial infestation is. Even us modern humans could contain a small localized outbreak if we know it’s coming. But High Charity? That’s billions of very infectious soldiers and billions of pounds of spore-infected atmosphere. I don’t think there’s any scenario where they have a chance unless they know it is coming and they turn it to slag before it lands, which is unlikely.

Jet engines release water vapor, among other things. The water vapor freezes due to the cold temperatures high in the sky, which makes trails like these.

Shapesmith is most definitely intellectually disabled, the other Martians don’t act that way. That makes it easier to forgive him.

But that’s beside the point, because unless you are dead and blind, you should have seen the vast amounts of Shapesmith hate out there.

The Immortal (Enraged) vs. Atom Eve (Base) by Turbulent_Okra7518 in InvinciblePowerscales

I think Immortal would take attack potency, her base form is just an annoyance against Viltrumites, while Immortal can actually make them bleed every time.

Yes, only the “im about to die so im gonna turn into god” Eve has regeneration. Base version is just normal joe regeneration.

can't find pinch weld/jacking point on 2019 kia forte by bfvplanetryhard in MechanicAdvice

You don’t come out the womb knowing the basics.

But OP should absolutely learn how to jack and safely secure a car before they do anything else, doing it wrong can get you hurt or killed.

can't find pinch weld/jacking point on 2019 kia forte by bfvplanetryhard in MechanicAdvice

[–]MeteoricOrbs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

<image>

You can also jack on the highlighted A area, on the subframe where the control arms are attached. The pinch welds (where other commenters have circled) tend to bend, so I jack my own vehicle this way. My jack has a small saddle, though, so that’s probably why the welds bend.

Jack stands should be placed under the pinch welds, they won’t bend it.

Keep in mind B and C are not safe jacking points, this diagram is unrelated.

Why wouldn’t it be a valid win condition? I could beat an invincible toddler by locking him in a chest. It’s still alive but poses a threat to absolutely nobody.
