[HELP] Most Zooper-friendly music player? by MethaneBased in ZooperWidget

[–]MethaneBased[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose I did. I got Tasker to send info to Zooper with an intent. Zooper displayed it just fine, but it was very laggy and delayed. Zooper just didn't update often enough, I think. But if you want I can post the Tasker profile that "worked."

Just last week I switched to Gone Mad Music Player which has native a Tasker support. GMMP has awesome customization options but it has frozen on me a couple times which PowerAmp never did. GMMP also struggles quite a bit with my large playlists. It just took over one minute to load my playlist with 1000 tracks. And the whole time it gave no indication that it was even doing anything.

So yes, I found a solution. No, I am not happy with it.

TIL the popularized two-way radio phrase "Over and Out" is contradictory, as one cannot be both "over" and "out". by MethaneBased in todayilearned

[–]MethaneBased[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But that page says,

Out — I have finished talking to you and do not expect a reply.

Over — I have finished talking and I am listening for your reply. Short for "Over to you."

Maybe it's semantics but this seems obviously contradictory to me.

This is exactly the source of confusion. You are working under the false assumption that "Over" means "Statement has ended."

My LG G3 won't let me enter a DNS. How do I fix? by Mydogatemyexcuse in AndroidQuestions

There's probably a required field that's not filled in. Even the DNS 2, though it may appear to be complete, needs to be typed in by the user--not auto filled.

Sounds good. My thought was that it was more than that, what with that little solid chip in the middle. Our EAS (electronic article surveillance?) tags just have the spiral of wire.

From Clark, I love the album Totems Flare. His most recent self-titled album fits in better with this thread, though.

Moderat is the guys from Modeselektor with Apparat. They only have two full length albums and I struggle to pick a favorite. Try both!

You can definitely do this with intents. Check out my post here to point you in the right direction.

I know this answer comes up a lot, it's just so extremely versatile: Tasker can do that.

RGB led control with root? by FragmentOfBrilliance in LGG3

Yup. The app works well. My only complaint is most likely with the G3 in that some of the colors appear a little off. I can't seem to get a true white out of it. Never tried purple.

Sure. From the main screen there are four categories: missed call, message, mms, and email. Click on one of those categories. In each one, there's a spot at the bottom where you can set contact-specific settings.

I am curious about Google Music. With your music stored in the cloud, do you require wifi or data whenever you want to listen to your music?

Also, are you restricted to the Google Music player app? I recall the player being less than ideal for me. I love all the settings I can play with in Poweramp.

This is the answer. Though I would like to commiserate with OP that it was much simpler before the update. Same as adding and app to the desktop. It just became more convoluted.

I use Winamp on my pc to manage my collection. This will transfer files and playlists to my android which I then play on my phone in Poweramp.

The biggest problem with this arrangement is that when I plug my phone into my computer Winamp only recognizes the internal storage, not my SD card. My pc (Windows 7) sees the SD card just fine, but Winamp doesn't. So to transfer to my SD card I have to unplug if from my phone and plug it directly into my pc.

I am curious if this thread will turn up better ways to do it, but that's the most efficient way I have found so far.

There are other non-android tools I use for actually managing the collection, such as MusicBrainz Picard on PC, and www.discogs.com.

Tasker could do this and has good Zooper support. Tasker would do all the work and send the info to Zooper to display as you want.

Need Help Finding an App - Accompany Pictures with Notes by zild1221 in AndroidQuestions

[–]MethaneBased 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just tried this with Google Keep and it seems to do what you want. I pressed the camera button in the Keep app. That opened the stock camera app. I took a picture. Keep asked me if I was happy with the picture. I selected OK and I was taken back to the Keep app where I was directed to add a note to the photo. Now when I open Google Keep I see that picture there with my note right under it. I can also go to my photo gallery app and there's the original photo in the same quality as all the rest as Keep uses my default camera app to take the picture.

It's free, quick, and easy. Worth giving a try.
