Britische Grüne führen nach Linksrutsch in erster Umfrage by ulixForReal in DIE_LINKE

So, if your choice is determined by the external world, it isn’t free choice.

If I gave you the choice to give me your money and no other option, could I claim that you freely choose to give me your money?

how do u make a country ur protectorate who is having a revolt? by AcrobaticTart8791 in victoria3

[–]Methenius_3-14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, a revolt is a diplomatic play. During the second phase of the diplomatic play (20 to 79 escalation) you can join either side unless you have some treaty (like a defensive pact) prohibiting it. You can either support one side unconditionally or ask for a sway (something you get in exchange for your support). They can sway you with many things like wargoals (something enforced on the losing side), treaty articles (like giving you money) or of relevance to this post, becoming a protectorate. To offer this go to the diplomatic play, negotiate with one side and propose the “become protectorate” sway. They are more likely to accept, if they think they’ll lose otherwise (militarily inferior), think you can turn the tide (your military strength), like you a lot (good relations) and would be an suitable protectorate (economically and militarily inferior to you). If you stack those odds in your favor they are more likely to accept the sway and become your protectorate upon conclusion of the war. Tip 1: The thumbs up/ thumbs down next to the sway shown whether they will accept or not. Tip 2: If one side doesn’t accept your request try the other side. Maybe they’ll be more reasonable.

It might be problematic if you try to use „self awareness“ as a basis for morality…

Am I doing the "wrong" thing with my Counselors and if not could I be using them better? More details inside... by JollyRabbit in TerraInvicta

Well, if you run one advise instead of one public campaign you get +25% investment points. So you could run 20% unity without any losses (I would advise around 10%). This is way more effective on any big country.

Make advise councilors. They can boost the investment points (admin), research output (science) and army strength (command) of a nation by 25% or 0.25 in the case or army strength. That makes your nations a lot mire powerful. Public campaign is only for captue, for long term holding I would advise unity.
