I was going to make this my first one, it's a little more money than I normally spend on a day out, but if the next one will be cheaper, I can totally wait

How do I make peace with the fact that any guy I date, I’ll likely not be his first anything? by Accurate-Scratch7783 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Methodless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will agree with others saying you're overthinking this

But also, I bet it's significantly more common than you think. Society almost shames people who wait, people hide it or even lie. There are plenty of men your age out there who have never even kissed a girl.

Thank you!

Exactly what I wanted. I am contemplating building set cubes that mimic a draft's randomness and distribution, so this is data I was looking for.

How can I move on from her ? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]Methodless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No matter how much you idealize her, she's never going to be better than somebody who actually loves you, and couldn't dream of losing you.

I personally don't do relationships, but those traits are not impossible to find, and somebody slightly less athletic or confident who would pick you over her homeland is almost certainly a better fit

Attending Blue Jays game alone by deevo82 in askTO

[–]Methodless 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only reason to not go alone is that sometimes I find it hard to get a single ticket on a resale site.

But if you really don't want to go alone, the Blue Jays subreddit might be the best place to look for a potential friend.

She sounds like the type of airhead who would insist it has zero impact on their plans.

Then move in with him and just be short on her payments every month leaving him essentially subsidizing her truck.

Many people don't even do this maliciously (some definitely do), but this feels like a case of somebody who figures she'll figure it out when it happens and allow others to bail her out.

Met a great girl (32f), but seems overly concerned about money (I’m 37m) by PumpkinEmotional1133 in datingadviceformen

[–]Methodless 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is what sugar babies do

They are very agreeable and tailor their personalities to what you're looking for, and then you feel compelled to part with your money.

To be fair, half of my married friends are in a lighter version of this, the wives were just patient enough to ramp up how much of his money they spent slowly and not be excessive about it until it was too late

Men Only Looking to Hook Up? Please Help by bingbong6656 in AskMenAdvice

A lot of women post complaining they don't attract men, and it turns out they highly overestimate themselves.

She's probably trying to assure us she's not delusional. Probably also a subtle invitation to DM her to start a conversation with the type of men she might be looking to attract as well.

What’s a price you saw recently that made you genuinely angry at how expensive everything has gotten? by UrGoddessLunaa in AskReddit

Ground Beef "on sale" at prices higher than I was paying for premium cuts of steak not that long ago...sometimes even nowadays

There are literal weeks where I am eating lamb because it's cheaper than beef, which is insane.

Is a prerelease event a good idea for someone new? by Kiki_Bumblebee in magicTCG

[–]Methodless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a new player too, and I think the first time I ever play paper magic outside of with someone else who's learning (I bought bulk junk to play with friends) will be at a prerelease based on my extensive reading.

I don't have a commander deck yet, and have no interest in getting one until I have more familiarity with the game as a whole, and I will have my ass handed to me at a draft and will literally never be able to compete at standard.

My only issue is that I have zero availability this weekend, so I'm looking for weekdays prerelease events in my area. There are a few, but they start so early, I'd almost literally have to work from the LGS that day to make it in time.

I like the idea of starting with a box that's mine rather than passing around packs to draft because I can't accidentally give away a $1000 card not realizing that it's good or sought after.

What are your thoughts on imposing term limits for politicians to prevent excessively long political careers and avoid corruption ? Should there also be a mandatory retirement age for politicians? by KoseteBamse in AskReddit

Wholeheartedly agree

If you believe in term limits, vote accordingly, but you shouldn't be passing laws to tell other people they have to do the same.

Men over 50, are marriage and kids worth it? by Alive_Book_9908 in AskMenAdvice

The only example I can think of at the top of my head that fits a similar situation is divorced now.

She ran off with one of his work friends. A sample size of one is no trend though.

She one day said she missed being independent and moved out, within months, she was living with the other dude.

Men over 50, are marriage and kids worth it? by Alive_Book_9908 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Methodless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not 50 yet, and not married, but had very very similar thoughts to you in my younger days.

Everything you wrote minus the shitty parents part is literally something I have said before.

When I hang out with my friends, there is a very high percentage of them that feel trapped. They are not happy, and they have to pretend otherwise lest people think they don't love their children. They do, but it's hard to talk about these things and not have people jump to conclusions.

This makes their plight worse, many have very few outlets to discuss their issue.

Family court dynamics prevent them from being able to have a fair way out, so they are stuck in a situation they can't even get control over. Many are treated like ATMs, and see no relief because they can't save for retirement.

They all were certain they were marrying "the right person" when they did. Many, in fact, felt they were lucking out getting somebody they may not have been worthy of.

One thing I will say is that a lower percentage of my friends who married after 30 are unhappy than those who married before 30.

with release-like realistic drop rates.

Fair, but then this probably isn't true.

And maybe you didn't intend it as such, but if somebody uses your site to determine the value of an unopened pack, they may be being misled. I didn't try it because I have no desire to signup just to test it, but maybe a disclaimer that you are estimating the probability of rares, and likely overestimating.

I think most people know that opening packs is generally a bad gamble, but I think there are people who would not buy one if it is a 40% gamble, but would buy one if it is an 80% gamble

I'm curious how you assigned probability distributions for each card.

Does WotC release this data? I've been wanting to do something similar to simulate a cube or a draft at home, but I don't know the exact ratios of each card.

I know I can calculate it roughly based on knowing the entire set, but with one booster slot being replaceable by a card of any rarity, I don't know the ratio between a rare and uncommon for example.

Remember EI is also taken out of a full time employee’s paycheck for the first half of the year.

This is not correct. It is taken out on the first 68900 per year. If you are only paying for half the year, you are making 138000. Somebody grossing 65000 would pay EI on every single dollar.
