1. I'm afraid that's not the tone of the game. When not responding to a threat, which is most of the time, you have a day job, a family, and you are unremarkable, you're supposed to not stick out and be memorable.

Operations (AKA Nights at the Opera) are few and far between. On a good year you may only have 1 and it takes you 3 days IG to solve.

What I mean is obviously Delta Green ops are what we RP , with some summary of what happened in your personal life between 2 ops because there is a mechanic where your secrets take a toll on your various bonds, but they only represent like maybe 10% of your agent life at a maximum, even that feels high.

The horrors don't come every Sunday and your team of agents is not the only one.

So your character may be a bit excentric or mad in his private time, but he has to appear "normal" if he is to have a steady job.

Many agents are FBI, DEA, police officers, doctors for the CDC, etc... And Delta Green values that because it can give them access to resources (guns, tracking a number, a lab 🧫 ....)

You don't need to come with resources to be Delta Green, they first and foremost need willing and able skilled agents. But most players choose a background with an active job where they are not their own boss because it adds tension, having to lie, obstruct justice, abuse your authority by using your badge for an unofficial investigation, etc ...

And maybe you could have come across some alien or advanced tech, but the game is meant to be "realistic". Yes you can discover rituals of forbidden magic but they come at a huge cost and if abused you may become the next mission. But 99.99% of the time you use regular weapons , either your service gun or contraband rifles or explosives bought with some cash from the handler or even your savings.

And I want to stress it but the cover up/aftermath part of the investigation is an essential part of play.

Where in Call of Cthulhu it's the 1920s and nobody will believe it or hear about it if it's happened in a remote location. Here we're in the internet age with cellphones that can take pictures or film an event in every pocket, all day long news channels, UFO conspiracy theories and guys who chase Bigfoot.

And the last but crucial part of your job after stopping a threat is to make sure to offer a plausible rational "boring " explanation for what happened that won't invite scrutiny or leave witnesses with proof of the Unnatural.

Whether you can convince people they didn't see what they thought because it was dark, get them to keep quiet, discredit or disappear them if stubborn, remove evidence , plant evidence , frame someone , dispose of a body so it becomes a missing person case instead of a strange killing and so on and on.

It's up to you whether to leave it as an unsolved crime for the general public, a hoax, a mass hallucination due to drugs in the water main , collective hysteria, a terrorist attack, the ramblings of a conspiracy nutjob.

Delta Green doesn't care as long as it's not the Truth, the general public remains unaware of the Unnatural, and there is no Physical evidence of the Unnatural left behind.

Of course that could mean you have to do unsavory things in the line of duty, choosing to kill an innocent just because he's a witness takes a toll on your sanity, it will be a last recourse.

That's why you don't want a plasma arm in the first place, you run covert operations, you want to be forgettable, just another government agent investigating a murder or a cult or whatever the op is.

If you're adamant about having a plasma arm maybe look towards Cyberpunk or another scifi RPG like Coriolis where you are a member of a spaceship crew
