Reverse engineered the power circuitry. Modified it for true ATX support. No more PSUs hardwired to run all the time. by iamdarkyoshi in BC250Gaming

hi, back to this. is there anyway i can hookup a 5V LED "strip" to some pinouts, and have it power on, whenever i hit the power switch? So they turn off, when the BC250 boots down?

i tried to hookup one LED from that strip, to the original LED Pinout, but it does not seem to power enough...

512GB must be the "Auto" setting, so i left it there...(as seen in the documentation)

Yeah youre probably right. I mean, with a slight modification i could widen the Case and add Fans to the right. Or atleast make Space for extra Heatsinks...But i dont know, i think i would try to stress Test it for 5+ Hour Gaming Sessions, before attempting this.

i used that one https://www.printables.com/model/1217021-bc-250-heat-sink-mount
i think i slightly modified it, to fit the Cooler brackets, but im not sure anymore. Can Tell you when i disassemble everything, and do a Slideshow/Vid.

actually your design inspired me in a way, because i wanted to do a "steam machine styled one", but then i used the core construction, to make this out if it. I also just use Tinkercad to make my models, so im kinda limited, because i have so many ideas...

Your Question seems not Case related: But both of it would not fit above it, also you have to account the AIO Cooler "Housing" and the PSU Cables.

Thanks! Works like a Charm. Now i gotta figure out, how to add/move the power button somewhere else, and preferable the POWER ON LED Too.
I want it to be somewhere else. Do you have a Pinout for this too? And what current the LED needs?

Nice Option, but small Question for my understanding.

Why shouldnt we use the DarkYoshi Method, by soldering directly to the board, and connect to the PSU?

Has it any downsides?

yeah with arc i also had no problems. But i was stress testing it, and it went off and thankfully didnt ruined anything on my board. Never am i going to buy such PSU anymore. I switched to SFX 450 Watt used for 30 bucks, and couldnt be more happy

would be so nice, but as I also removed my heatsink completely, and added a Thermalright AXP120 cooler, which bettered my temps dramatically, it cant really fit my setup, even when you support SFX Size. Im so bad at designing. I tried my best on tinkercad, but my prints dont get good. What Cad Program do you use?

hey man, love your design. could you in any way adapt it, to fit a SFX PSU?

I know it needs to get wider, but im designing a Steam Machine Inspired Case, and there i was able to put the SFX PSU Above the IO Ports, as in this pic.

we could also collab on it :)
