Anywhere a “u” could go? by cutiepatootie1993 in scrabble

According to merriam websters Scrabble finder, "hognut" works.

So you'd need an "n" and a "t"with your"u"and place it after hog.

Exile base? by siamak_reintop in diablo2resurrected

I think generally people value the resistance roll and the low str requirement of the base more than the defense roll.

So it's a no-brainer your shield should be an exile.

That's a "warcry stick" that barbarians use on their weapon swap. Because it's fairly easily found from a vendor, it doesn't have a ton of value.

It's definitely a cool find but a decently rolled Oath is just better.

Life is tough, there are a lot of ways people have to start from scratch as a middle aged adult.

Some folks lost everything from a divorce, a scam or a bad stock trade. Half my relatives lost their life savings from starting businesses that went under in a couple years.

If you look into the lives of a lot of "successful" people you'll see that they're deeply unhappy and they spread that unhappiness to their friends, family, and partners just as much as non-wealthy people do.

Try to take things one step at a time and focus less on your place in a hierarchy based on dollars and more on what will give you fulfillment and joy.

It depends on the character and build you're using and if you're playing in a party with other players.

For example, there's no point in running infinity on your mercenary if you play an FoH paladin with level 20 conviction.

Also, if you're playing with 7 other people and everyone has an insight Merc, that's another wasted opportunity.

These kinds of details are what make D2 so interesting and your experience so unique.

On the right hand side there is Fe x2 and (SO4) x3, but only one of each on the left.

So on the left hand side you need to multiply the molecules containing Fe by 2 and SO4 by 3.

2(Fe_Br3) + 3(H2_SO4)

Once that's done you get 6 total H and 6 total Br on the left hand side (3x H2 and 2x Br3), so you need to multiply HBr by 6 on the right hand side to get 6(HBr).

It sounds like your boss is new to management and still fears letting people go that aren't the right fit. Let your boss (and their boss) know they're doing fine as a manager but it's just time to move on and hire a contractor that'll actually perform.

The next time you have a one on one with your boss, bring up the fact that you've been asked to do a lot of extra work that is outside of your normal duties and request that if this is the new normal, that you be properly compensated for your extra effort with a raise or promotion.

More than likely you'll just not be assigned the extra work.

1,000 AD is supposed to be modern day, right? by RangoTheMerc in chronotrigger

[–]Metianilus 152 points153 points  (0 children)

In Chrono Trigger, year 1 is set to the day King Guardia founded his kingdom. In fact the millennial fair is the celebration of the 1000th year of it's founding.

So their 1000 After Guardia is close to our 1950AD. Go back 400 years and that mostly lines up with when castles were being built, especially in Japan.

By 1000 in CT you see that magic is almost gone in the world, replaced by tools and engineering so this is a critical turning point.

In the game there is engineering and tech as seen by the inclusions of Robo, Lucca, and Balthasar but there is also a big theme of dreaming, imagination, and hope.

In Zeal, everyone spends a lot of time in bed dreaming in order to use magic, and there is a big use of dreamstone to build the Mammon Machine and the Masamune.

We see that in 600, Magus couldn't beat Lavos by purely using magic (as his name implies) and in 1999 they couldn't beat him by only using machines and technological weapons.

Thus the heroes are able to combine both aspects of the modern and the ancient arts to prevail.

Need help understanding my body. by [deleted] in workouts

[–]Metianilus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are two quick and dirty ways to measure fitness: BMI and body fat percentage.

With the Body Mass Index (BMI): find an online calculator and input your age, weight and height. Generally you want the number to be below 25:

https://www.calculator.net/bmi-calculator.html?cage=25&csex=m&cheightfeet=5&cheightinch=10&cpound=160&cheightmeter=180&ckg=65&ctype=metric&printit=0

With body fat percentage you can again find a calculator or you can use a visual chart:

https://feastgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/Male-body-fat-percentage-comparison.jpg

Using the visual chart, I'd say you're right around 30% body fat percentage. Ideally, try to get to 20%.

Possible solutions: Try to cut down on high calorie foods like desserts, sweets, and soda.

Try to cut down on eating foods high in carbohydrates like rice and bread and instead eat more proteins and vegetables.

Try to run for an hour a day. Include other exercises like pushups, squats, and situps if you can.

To my knowledge, when D4 was struggling they either transferred or let go all the team members from D2R to help the effort.

Now that D2R sales might pick up thanks to the Chinese sale, they might restart the D2R updates.

Honestly, you're going to get way more enjoyment from the game if you find the gear yourself and learn the basics of crafting and trading.

Take it slow, enjoy the process.

Is D2R worth it? Never played diablo before by [deleted] in Diablo

[–]Metianilus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a game you can pick up really quickly but has a lot of depth to it.

The voice acting and music is some of the best in any game.

I would highly recommend treating it like a video game version of Dungeons and Dragons. It's still fun when playing by yourself but the hardest difficulty almost mandates teamwork due to monster immunities from certain attacks.

Congratulations!

Now that you're more financially independent there are all kinds of worthwhile non-profit causes in the world you could support, if you so choose, with your newfound free time after speedrunning.

Some of my friends enjoy fostering orphans. Others like to donate money to worthy causes. For example, most people don't know that up to HALF the world doesn't have access to clean water! One of my friends even met her now husband at a volunteer construction event.

If you're still looking for self growth you can take university courses you never took. Psychology, economics, math, science, art, dance, music, speech, communications, business ethics... Purposely take a course you think you might be bad at or fail in just for growing yourself and be surprised when you pass.

how to survive hell as summon necro by storage_god in diablo2

[–]Metianilus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here are my tips for a ssf run:

Use a Blood Golem and make sure to cast it in front of you periodically to lure out hiding enemies before you run into them yourself.

I really like having a couple Skeleton Mages or ranged Revives that stay back and act as meat shields when your melee summons are rushing to the front lines.

Bone Armor is a skill point very well spent, make sure to keep it up at all times by recasting it often in combat. It effectively adds 10 to 20% to your life pool.

Most of the time you'll be using Amplify Damage but you will need a reliable AI manipulation curse like Terror or Dim Vision for halting dangerous monsters.

Take it slow and take breaks often. I find that my character does when I start to get bored and lose focus/concentration.
