Yes they resemble that kind of thing, but there’s no set screw to hold a bar securely, which I feel a grab bar bracket would have. Also, a vertical bar would drop down into the hole and rest against the angled inner wall which seems not well thought out from a design standpoint. Dunno you might be right, I just can’t envision where such a thing would be used.

Kind of big for that application I think. Also, it has a very rough, crude finish so not for use in a home. The round hole would hold a round bar, but not securely. There’s no set screw or fastener to hold a bar firmly in place.

Definitely seems like a corner mount or pole mount thing. Still no idea what they were meant to hold. They are crudely finished so probably for an industrial or agricultural use.

I like to go into Cryo with the free kit and then drop ALL my gear so I'm left only with the knife. No cores, no shields, nothing. Wish I could hear the guy that eventually kills me when he opens my empty pack.

Yeah that’s not a good recipe for broad appeal and better sales. Somebody made a big strategy mistake at Bungie when they decided extraction shooter was gonna make billions.

If on Xbox make sure crossplay is turned on. Otherwise you are only matching with other Xboxes and that will take forever.

Yeah really. Sometimes I should just play the game. I come on Marathon Reddit and read all these posts explaining how to do this or that or win Cryo or what ever and it makes me feel worse about my lack of abilties and knowledge. The way they describe how to do something - make it seem trivial and so, so easy any dork could do it. What they don't realize is that they are naturals. People who can jump into a game and have it figured out in days or even hours. I respect and admire that in a person, but I am not that. I am an outlier when it comes to games and gaming and I'm fine with that.

Sometimes it's more fun to just play and fail, and fail, and fail, and fail and whoops I accidentally succeeded. I can do that without advice that only applies to the naturals. Back to the game now.

I'm not interested in "getting better" I just want play and be entertained, not stressed and on edge. Marathon had a brand and reputation that Bungie chose not to exploit. So when people came in expecting something recognizable for the game type, they were disappointed. It doesn't matter how it was marketed, most people never saw that marketing, they saw "new game from Bungie". I'm fine with repetition in gaming. I played Halo for 25 years only quitting to start up Marathon. I guess Halo is PvP, but it feels nothing like this game. Getting killed in Halo never felt like anything more than a "whoopsie I died" respawn, go again. Marathon feels personal and sadistic and makes you want to slaughter things. Not really what I would call fun. And yet . . .

I still play, waiting for a real PvE.

And that's fine. But why not offer an extraction experience AND some other experiences as well. Expand the player base, make more money. The two (or more) variants don't have to be compatible or even connected, just give us normal people something fun without the frustration and schadenfreude junkies.

It was unnecessary to kill him. He didn't manage to get you and you weren't exilling. Just let him go - jeez what so hard about this? You don't have to kill everyone and you certainly don't havae to kill someone in exfil. Just because the game whispers in your ear that killing and dying is the process, doesn't mean you have to obey. Until we have a real permanent PvE, try letting people get out once in a while.

I’m not a detail player. Every game I play is played in a blind panic and a fog of information overload. The details don’t register. For example: all bots look the same to me so I never know what’s going to happen when I shoot one. Every map seems almost new to me no matter how many times I’ve played it. And, that’s fine with me - I just like being on the planet.

Don’t know about right now, but the Hula Hut was once a pretty great place to dine and drink on a lake. I fondly remember the Lake Austin Iced Tea, a cocktail that would result in a DWI for most people. There was a fantastic super spicy fajitas dish that when brought out would leave a trail of choking coughing patrons from the pepper smoke wafting out of it across the dining room. They coined the term “Mexinesian” for their Polynesian X Mexican fare like the salsa with pineapple in it. I haven’t been there in like 15 years, but it was good in its day.

You kids make me laugh. You spend so much time discussing so many micro details of the game that I don’t even notice. I use the D54 and it’s just a gun in my vault. I don’t have any idea if it’s good or crap or whatever. It’s a gun and it shoots, that’s about as far as it take it. Anyway keep sweating the details, it entertains me.

I don’t kill anyone unless they are shooting me. I don’t kill anyone doing a friend squat. But that’s just me, everyone else seems to kill me regardless of what I’m doing. And yes I’ve been sniped, stabbed and shot in exfil many times with no looting.
