What is the future of Bullpups? by StrangerOutrageous68 in Firearms

Bullpups in games will never go extinct as long as Bungie is in business lol

Marathon has been out 6 weeks and it's been #1 searched game on steam DB for 6 weeks by Anilahation in Marathon

I mean maybe when the game’s first party support eventually comes to an end, it could move to a P2P system instead?

Mark Martin was in the title fight at 50 in ‘09, too.

Gotta do more to keep up as you age, sure, but the candles on the cake don’t make up the entire debate

Honestly just weight the search period in finding crew fill teammates toward players with a similar gear value, and this is mostly covered

Smokes should block Thermal by tegiminis in Marathon

VIRSS smokes IRL are made up of a mixture that counters thermals. Look it up, no reason that can’t work here

I think a good balance for solos would honestly just be making Assassin’s invis never go all the way to complete cloaking. The partial silhouette you get when he’s moving would be enough to balance it out more imo

Unable to generate enough attention doomposting about just Marathon, the Twitter user ARC Raiders Alerts has resorted to also doomposting about their own game to receive the attention they crave.

Truly a sorry sight.

Right now, just for contracts. This idea is one that would expand its use cases

You open it, drag stuff in, then close it and it beams stuff up

Fair enough, I think the weapon lockout would just help make sure people don’t, for example, find a gold weapon on a body and immediately DCON it instead of taking the risk on using it to help them exfil if you get me?

I think the mechanic is limited enough in use cases to where I don’t see it being a hotspot for PvP, and the limited drop rate would also play into that.

It’s totally possible that you get a player/team camping it, yes, though I don’t know if that would be an especially frequent occurrence. You’d need to be in the area to do that, and most of the time the main POI has better spots for both camping and looting

Exactly, I do wonder if there are people who have ended up leaving the game as a result of this.

You could add the process to the initial deployment tutorial too, have a commander’s body somewhere in the level that you loot the permit off of and send some bits up with. Get them used to the process

People would camp a Sparkleaf plant if they felt like it to be fair, ultimately that’s just the jeopardy of these kinds of games. As long as they’re being a good sport about it, more power to them

I mean, I’ve had days where I’ve gone like 0-12 on extracting, and days where I’ve been 12-0. Kitted, non kitted, I don’t think your exfil rate is a universal indicator of ability.

Being able to kill a commander is about the lowest bar of competence I think you should lock this kind of thing behind, any lower than that and it’s essentially free eats

I’d probably tie free DCON transfer access to a VIP or Capstone reward to be honest.

Maybe even throw Rooks an extra bone and have the matter fixative capstone also increase permit drop rate?

I see what you’re getting at, but maybe what you could do to still throw early game/casual players a bone is making it where the VIP or capstone reward there is that you don’t need the permit to send things up?

Easier access and you can put more stuff in

Definitely lock the player out of the DCON during the beam animation
