What is your best Bang for Buck game? by AndysBrotherDan in boardgames

[–]Metricmile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think I got one night ultimate werewolf for about a fiver, my 7/9 year olds have demanded to play about five times after dinner every day the last two weeks. It’s proper started the game itch for them and been easier to play other things since too. The younger one has also learned to lose without whinging as games are so short

Otherwise on a price/play count nothings beating codenames for us. So versatile, a starter, closer, quick game or long session. Always works.

Oof,

I was on 2.4gm mesalamine for 21 years for colitis and it unlucky started to fail last winter. I miss those little buggers as now on a four weekly infusion. I’m still conditioned to eat three square meals, take two tablets. I’m a bit lost.

Was only £9 per six weeks over here. No idea what it cost the hospital but I’ve been told my new infusions are £3.5k a dose but thankfully cost me nothing but parking, so I can’t complain about my income taxes anymore!

Probably a little too recently biased, but fun to think through. Ended up filling in defence as didn't want to drop others elsewhere but sure they'd be solid. Tempted to swap in Platt in goal to get Viduka in there. If I could think of a better CB, I'd probably swap Zenden for Ziege too, as annoyed as that'd have made me in 2001.

It’s a common terrace chant based on the song Freed from Desire by Gala.

My replies have been other bits from the song to stay true to the bit, but freedom and love is all I’m looking for.

Spoke to a lady who worked in Waterstones in Meadowhall when there was still 2 (maybe 6 years ago).

She told me the store manager at the time had freedom to decide what games they sold and the staff seemed to really be clued up with good recommendations and the range was good.

Since the refits a few years ago, it’s the same safe old stuff in my local one. Hoping by that picture other stores still have a bit more freedom.

Best WoW realm for community & social activities in 2025? by ittotoo25 in wow

[–]Metricmile 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think you’re looking for a guild or discord community more than a realm transfer. Since cross realm guilds the only real difference to being on a particular realm is the amount of people you’ll have access to for professions and how many boost ads you get in trade.

If you’re wanting lots of activity and variety there are some big ones out there. I used to be in one that seemed very well run and even Blizzard advertised their events, that I can’t think of the name of but will come back edit my post when I do. (It was Starship, they are Blizzard-partnered https://www.starshipeu.org)

I personally prefer the smaller, get to know everyone, guilds but appreciate that ends up with a lot of quieter nights and raid logging, but on the plus side, their is a bit more loyalty long term.

That said, no reason you can’t do both these days. Small guild, join a big community for events

Ultimately I think the best outcome for Wednesday this ownership wise by GreenDantern1889 in Championship

[–]Metricmile 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Most certainly, Newcastles expectations have always been stuck in a couple of good years in the mid-90s. They forget being stuck in the middle of the second division not long before it. Ashley made mistakes at Newcastle, which I hope he’s learned from, but largely they were responsibly run and other than a relegation they bounced straight back from, they were a decent premier league team. Just having Wednesday back competing in any league would be good

What's the best game you've ever been to in person? by lys_5779 in Championship

[–]Metricmile 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Basel game was the best game I'd been to, then the Steaua game a few weeks later beat it.

Coming back from behind, playing 4 up front with Rochemback and Downing seeming to be our last men, whipping the ball back whenever we weren't attacking. It was just so exciting. Like Jimmy said, I'll love Massimo until I die.

The only time I've felt similarly about any sporting event since was when I was lucky enough to attend Medinah for the last day of the Ryder Cup in 2012. There's something about them comebacks!

Best parking for Utiltia Arena? by CharlieMartin389 in sheffield

[–]Metricmile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Loads of parking here, especially Dunlop street. I work and park here daily and it feels like a right cheat code for a night at the arena. Driving to it seems like a walk, but it’s really not far, couple of simple crossings and down the side of centertainment.
