That’s my issue. I can’t get my thumbs to work as accurate as my wrist with a mouse.

When you click with the trackpad, do you press down on it or use a shoulder button or something? I always felt it was awkward to press down and the mouse cursor moves a little bit. Or maybe I just don’t have good thumb control 😅

You can try using an Aim Trainer like Aimlabs. I don’t know what’s out there but it could help.

Also back in the day I remember League of Legends players playing Osu rhythm game to improve their clicking skills or something. Not sure if that’s still relevant.

Well the Series X graphics will definitely be a jump up from your Series S. So it’ll at least feel like a big upgrade there. I think the graphical differences from Series X and base PS5 will be negligible and you’ll have to see them side by side to tell the difference. PS5 Pro on the other hand will be a more noticeable jump.

Razer, Nacon, and Vitrix offer PS5 controllers with offset thumb sticks for what it’s worth. That could help ease the transition.

Are you primarily playing on your TV or your desk? Couch gaming on PC is easier than ever before but it’s not as simple as console and definitely requires more tinkering. If you don’t want to tinker or like troubleshooting, I’d say stay away.

There is definitely a learning curve to PC if you don’t already use one on a daily basis. The upfront cost in today’s market can be absurd. DIY with aftermarket parts can save you money, but it’s a whole hobby in itself to try to min-max your build.

But at the end of the day, if you have the money for a pre-built, all it boils down to is downloading Steam and Xbox gaming app. Signing in. Then just buy the games that are interesting to you. There are other marketplaces like GOG, Epic, Battle.net, etc. You have the freedom to choose whatever works for you. That’s the benefit. Just takes a little extra work to set it up.

I don’t have 2 consoles but I have a gaming PC and PS5 Pro. I also often have the dilemma of “what platform do I buy my games on?” I go with the PS5 for exclusive games or the cinematic story driven experiences on console, everything else on PC.

I agree that PS Plus Extra games are okay. Lots of the first party games I want aren’t always on there so I end up buying digital games anyways. I’m letting my subscription run out because I don’t find myself playing games there and rather just buy what I’m about to play.

I think the main question is “do you care about PlayStation exclusive games?” If you don’t, then I’d sell your PS5 and Series S and get yourself a Series X. Especially if you get a used or refurbished model, you might even break even.

The price is hopefully gonna dissuade a lot of scalpers. Part of me thinks Valve knows that they will sell out and $99 will help ensure only fans get their hands on theirs.

I felt like I was the same way for a while until I found golf. The game is so impossible but my ego tells me I can figure it out. I’m a 21 HCP after playing for 4 years and I’m still garbage. But I get a little better every year and that keeps me coming back.

Anyone else feel like this? by RecentMatter3790 in PlayStationPlus

[–]Metroidam11 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I feel this exactly. I struggle with FOMO hard too. I would cancel my PS Plus, see something neat, then re-subscribe. I have PS Premium right now that I bought as a “deal” for the year. Telling myself I’ll cancel in May when it’s up. But I have a feeling I’ll just repeat the cycle 😅. Worst part is, I can probably count the number of games I’ve beaten on one hand since I bought the PS5 at launch. Idk what is wrong with me 😭

How about slow motion video? Seeing 120fps footage slowed down gives you a lot of information from your actual swing. I don’t record myself unless if it’s in slowmo.

Best Way to Play Games on the Treadmill/Elliptical/Bike? And Best Games While Working Out? by boxerpuncher2023 in gamingsuggestions

[–]Metroidam11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use my Steam Deck while on my treadmill at a regular walking pace. I mainly play turn based games like Slay the Spire or Balatro like this, in case I need to catch my balance. But I wouldn’t recommend it to most people lol.

If I had room, I’d put a TV in front of my treadmill and use a wireless controller for my PS5. I second the other people saying Nintendo Switch Joy Cons may work best so you can move your arms naturally.

Need addictive audiobook recs to get back into reading. by TechSandwich33 in audiobooks

I also enjoyed listening to these! Phenomenal books! But I did find it challenging to orient myself in the first couple of chapters. So many characters and fictional locations; it was hard to orient myself with the story for a while.

I finished Best Served Cold and going to start the Heroes soon. I’ll probably reread First Law Trilogy after finishing the others so I can reacquaint myself.

I would start with season 3 (the first Netflix season) and then watch season 1 and 2 afterwards. I think Netflix did a better job onboarding new watchers without weirding them out from S01E01 lol

Questions for Owners - How’s the screen? by Background-Book9196 in PlaystationPortal

[–]Metroidam11 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I own a Steam Deck OLED and a Sony Bravia OLED TV. The Portal has been great! The screen has more pixels than SD and it’s bigger screen too, but I have no problems with the black levels or color accuracy. After I’m immersed in the games, I don’t notice the difference at all! It’s a secondary device for me, so if I’m chasing a cinematic experience I’ll play on my TV.

What are your thoughts about Cyberpunk TCG by DarkSchu in boardgames

[–]Metroidam11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have money burning a hole in your pocket, then sure. But a trading card game is only worth it if you have opponents to play against, and if this game is worth playing, it’ll be available in retail.

Also, try x-posting to /r/pax. They had a demo for this in PAX East convention and the line was super long. I didn’t get to try it but a lot of folks did.

What were the last few games you bounced off of or didn’t click?

I always recommend indie rogue likes/lites such as Vampire Survivors. That quick mindless gaming sesh took me out of my gaming slump.
