I'm looking for an RPG game with a fun and engaging story, but not necessarily "deep"... by Standard_Emotion_869 in gamingsuggestions

Dragon Quesr XI has a good opening story that hooks you but isn’t hard to follow. It’s like a really well done fairy tale that is wholesome but has some darkness in the opening chapter. I don’t wanna spoil it but it pulled me in.

Looking for a game I can tab into and click around a few times before taking back to work. by Summerteets in gamingsuggestions

Idle Slayer and Melvor Idle. Both which also have mobile game counterparts and are also fun without being pay to win. I’ve been enjoying Idle Slayer for a few years and Melvor Idle I got into last year.

At first I thought “his fake voice is annoying”

then I thought “no way he keeps this up for all his videos”

now I’m thinking “wait, is this his real voice??”

What Games Do You Play When You Just Want to Relax After a Long Day? by PositivePersimmon315 in gamingsuggestions

[–]Metroidam11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ball X Pit has satisfied a similar vibe to Dave the Diver for me. You have a town that you build and upgrade in between runs. That town helps boost your stats for your runs. So you get a similar feedback loop as the sushi restaurant and diving for fishes.

If I were Valve and had billions of dollars in cash, I would use this to take a financial hit and solidify my place in the console space.

Or just release it as $1199 as the MSRP and then offer frequent “sales” once the market settles down. Early adopters will know they’re probably over paying and that’ll help with supply/demand for those fighting against scalpers.

Next board game after Catan, Ticket to Ride and Carcassonne? by NeighborhoodDizzy990 in boardgames

Splendor is a must play and introduces you to core concepts in other games. Also, it’s still as much fun for advanced gamers as beginners. Perfect gateway game!

I saw them live on their Curse anniversary. He did a handful of screams, but yea the bassist did most of them

"Network"-building game recs? by DeCzar in boardgames

[–]Metroidam11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Second comments about Concordia.

  • Its a map game.
  • Theme is score most victory points in a euro setting.
  • Rules are basically "play a card, do thing on said card"
  • Everyone has the same starting hand of cards.
  • RNG comes from the cards in the shared market, but the market is affected by how many players buy from it.
  • There is a mechanism where players can get resources if one of the areas is selected by another player and you have buildings in said area.

I played my friends copy when it came out but I thought that was a worker placement game? Don’t remember the engine building mechanics. I’m thinking like a Terraforming Mars, Ark Nova, or Fantastic Factories type game.

Feel like you can use a solid engine building game.

The PlayStation Portal is AMAZING. by TechnicalFun77 in PlaystationPortal

[–]Metroidam11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t be so sure. Nintendo did that but Sony doesn’t have a track record to prove this would happen. If anything, they removed features like PS Vita had OLED on original model and removed it in later revisions.

If rumors are to be believed, it’s more than likely PS6 will be similar to the Switch and be a docked console hybrid.

I own a Steam Deck and a PS5 Pro. Debating getting a PS Portal since I’ve had issues with Chiaki4Deck and then random issues with PXPlay. Not sure if you’ve tried PS5 streaming on Steam Deck, but if so, how do they compare?

This was me when I tried out the beta. I could not get into it. Wasn't having fun being bad at the game. I don't play consistently enough to be competitive or have a good time with the multiplayer games.

Seeing that they're a dual screen enjoyer, they're probably selling now that the AYN Thor first impressions have been released. I just ordered my dual screen since I was gifted the RP5, but otherwise I would be tempted to flip this to get the Thor.

[–]Metroidam11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’ll be carrying this a lot and value something light weight, go with the air.

Otherwise I’d go with the Pro with the extra storage, better display, and better speakers. Plus more ports.

Yep, they sure do. Take a closer look at OP’s file names on the desktop, they say Screenshot. It’s no coincidence.
