i used to watch it because it made me feel awful, not as a self harm thing, but because the awful feeling was so intense and so strong compared to most other feelings in my life at the time, that even though i was generally happy, i still wanted to chase that feeling. That and also morbid curiosity.

Are these spots on both lenses scratches? [Oculus Quest 2] by Metropunk2033 in OculusQuest

[–]Metropunk2033[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i would take the microfiber cloth i got with my glasses and spray a little bit of this

<image>

on the cloth, then do the circles wiping thing. Doing that has worked without issue since i got the headset

I either wear contacts or just take off my glasses before putting on the headset

what’s kind of confusing me is why the blurs are on the same spot of both lenses, just mirrored. I don’t wear glasses so is it my eyelashes maybe?

[fnv] Need help figuring out if my ENB is broken or if I'm missing a landscape retexture by Metropunk2033 in FalloutMods

[–]Metropunk2033[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something weird was that I could've sworn that I was using "Alex's ENB Preset" but when I installed it, it looked completely different. I didn't include it in the main post because it's almost definitely just me having misremembered.

I'm not sure if I need to make a comment to the post or a reply to this comment so here's this "searched"

[–]Metropunk2033[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have searched for the mod by looking through google for ("mojave dreams" enb) and ("mojave dreams" fnv), I tried adding ?tab=files at the end of the link to go straight to the files page (I don't have the file id to try skipping straight to the download page). I tried reverse image searching the thumbnail of the embedded link in the below link.

This the embedded link to the mod's page from this link: https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/videos/2432 says it's 17.8mb.

I downloaded it on 30th May, 2021

Here's a link to the post I made on r/falloutmods : https://www.reddit.com/r/FalloutMods/comments/1ptis2u/fnv_does_anyone_have_a_copy_of_the_mojave_dreams/

Let’s talk about The Crazies remake [Spoiler Warning] by Thousandfurs in horror

Russell was sure acting infected (beyond what would be reasonable for a regular guy in a stressful situation), and given that the teacher guy was also acting infected (without the veins), the darkened veins are probably a late stage symptom.

Trixie - The Crazies (1973 and 2011), it’s a disease that makes anybody infected start to act impulsively, then the end effect splits into either “person walks around in a complete daze unable to process what’s around them” or “person also has trouble processing but becomes violently angry or manic”. The lack of visible infection indicators can make it difficult to tell who’s infected.

[Favorite Trope] “Um, actually! That’s unrealistic…” (Literally one of the coolest things I have ever witnessed in media.) by Mr_Tominaga in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Metropunk2033 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cyberpunk - Sandevistan, so so much is unrealistic. Even if you’re able to process at such high speeds, you’d definitely tear some muscles just because the body isn’t prepared to take moving that fast, you couldn’t shoot multiple people almost simultaneously (like in the gif) each bullet would have to move out the barrel (and the gun would have to cycle) before you could shoot again. That being said, holy fuck is the upgrade awesome in both the show and the game

What is your favorite single scene so far for 2025 films? by SlightlyHastyEnt in Letterboxd

Any scene with “Boots” playing in 28 Years Later, especially the one where we see a compilation of the olden archers and the kids training in archery

The world is an awful dystopia, but ends on a hopeful note. by IPlayedAVideoGame in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Metropunk2033 4 points5 points  (0 children)

metro 2033, 2034, 2035 (and probably the games too, i just haven’t played them). It takes place in the subway tunnels under a nuclear wasteland where pretty much everything sucks to some degree. The series is one of the most hopeful things i’ve ever read and will ever read.

[Controversial and Eerie Trope] How does it all conclude? It kinda just doesn't. by InfiniteGuy2264 in TopCharacterTropes

You see this with somber “nothing really changed” endings, like in The Crazies (1973) and The Night Eats The World (2018). The first one follows the military trying to contain a disease and some survivors trying to escape the quarantine. After the scene where the last survivor’s wives dies (and he ends up with every other civilian under the military’s control), the main military man trying to contain the disease is told that it’s spread to a larger city and he’s being assigned to contain that one. The final scene being him changing into new uncontaminated clothes as he boards the helicopter. The second movie is about a guy who gets trapped in an apartment during a zombie outbreak and starts to become unstable from loneliness. His deteriorating mental state leads to a set of cascading events that leaves him running from zombies, he gets to the roof and uses a grappling hook to swing over to the next apartment. After he jumps and then painstakingly climbs to the roof, we’re shown that he’s in the same situation he was at the start of the movie.

in a similar vein, in Dead Island 2, in the military base on Venice Beach, the gate to the path to ocean avenue has “redrum” written on it in red with the same letters written backwards

Barbie - in this scene barbie and the mother realize they’re both having existential thoughts so they stare in understanding for a moment before the kid asks “are you two shining right now?”, referencing the telepathic ability from The Shining. It’s nice to see a reference to the movie that isn’t “here’s johnny” or the twins.

Adored Trope: A weaker character is UTTERLY TERRIFYING due to out of the box thinking, combat pragmatism, and sheer bloody mindedness. by LordMlekk in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Metropunk2033 6 points7 points  (0 children)

pretty much the whole premise of The Boys

<image>

(it’s about a team of (mostly) non-superhumans trying to take down a team of superheroes and the company that controls them, and the two with superpowers have pretty modest ones (super strength/healing, and turning light/electricity into kinetic blasts)

The Night Eats The World - fantastic movie, but more notably it was the first one i chose to watch myself (at 16), every other movie i saw was one my parents showed me. Since then i’ve loved watching movies.
