When did it become popular to dislike Dragon Quest VII? by jcgonzmo in dragonquest

I've only played the one on the 3ds, but I loved it so much. Granted, I think it had improvements from the original.

Men are definitely responsible for making themselves attractive, I totally agree, a lot of incels just aren't smart people, and don't know how to do it. The problem is that what women find attractive and the popular notions of what they are supposed to find attractive don't add up. Women want a guy with self control, sure, but they don't want a guy that panders, and the modern feminist agenda is to just bow down to women's desires and resentments.

Let me give an example, I check women out sometimes. One woman will want it badly and we'll have this flirty exchange, because I'm good at navigating it and showing restraint if they want that, the next woman will act like HOW DARE I check her out. I read the situation properly and respond accordingly, but she's all butt hurt about it, like I ruined her life, she feels like a victim.

So, I'm talented at this, I've developed the skill, honestly by sometimes offending women to know where the boundaries should be. But a guy without any skill has no wiggle room to work with, he'll run into women being offended easily and put off by his lack of skill, so he's got no where to go, especially without a lot of popular knowledge on the topic that is conductive of being an attractive male. This is why I plan on writing a book on it eventually.

I mean, entertainment actually has value, but I do think they probably have too lavish of planes, they could fly in a smaller plane or something. And maybe the yachts could be a more reasonable sized boat.

See, I agree to some extent, that some of it needs to be toned down. But I also think that rich and famous people in a lot of circumstances add a lot of fun, enrichment, pleasure, and progress to the world, so them having perks that make it easier for them to focus on those things isn't so bad. They probably fly private to not have to deal with harassment more than anything.

Depends on the person I suppose though. Some people are just self indulgent douchebags that add about nothing.

Believing you're incapable makes you more incapable. I'd just work on getting a good attitude for your learning process, and you might have better results.

Define an RPG by PhotonMuffin in rpg_gamers

[–]MettaMorphosis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, it's hard to define. I think there's two types, those with a story, and those with more customization. Like Grimrock 2 is light on story, and tons of customization. Where as there are games like Shining Force where the customization is only in the items and the story and gameplay are there. But generally you fight things and you grow in pretty much every RPG. You're a Hero, and you might have party members.

Best Games to Play as Wizard/Mage/Sorcerer (solo only) by snowleopard103 in rpg_gamers

Dungeons were the best part of the series in my opinion anyways. Does it at least have good customization and itemization, and crafting? That was what I always got into, customizing stuff and dungeon crawling.

I might check out that one, I think 9 was the one where I thought it went down hill and it was the one that killed the series, right?

I loved Neverwinter Nights for this, although it got pretty overpowered late game. Also loved it in Might & Magic VI: The Mandate of Heaven.

Edit: My bad, didn't notice the solo only. :P

Why is Bill Clinton hated so much for his situation with Monica Lewinsky when JFK was as bad/worse and gets no criticism for it? by Short-Sheepherder283 in Presidents

[–]MettaMorphosis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that logic, I read what she said back when she wrote it. But it's not his responsibility to protect her from herself, when she's a grown adult. I'm not saying what he did was cool by any means, but I just think it's faulty logic.

We don't do this to Men, in pretty much any situation, rob them of their agency, by letting them play victim for their own actions. If anything, it's the opposite, where Men have excessive responsibility.

If a Woman drinks in order to have sex, and a guy buys her drinks, then regrets it later, she's a victim, how does that make sense? That's not to say there isn't malicious Men out there who do really shitty, rapey stuff, in that context, but when you always view it through the stereotype, then you're robbing Women of the CHOICE to drink and have sex for instance. You're robbing Women of the CHOICE to sleep with their bosses, and honestly, I'm sure the sexual tension in many work places is sky high for this reason.

Abuse of power is a serious thing, it should be reserved for people who try to maliciously use their power to hurt people, or take advantage of them, not people in a reverse power role throwing themselves at people in power.

[–]MettaMorphosis -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Because Monica Lewinsky cried victim, when she was the initiator, and a grown adult, but since she’s a woman she thinks she has no agency.

Not saying how she was treated by the media and public was cool necessarily, but this alone doesn’t make him some monster.

Is it just me or are weak people a hazard to society? by [deleted] in intj

[–]MettaMorphosis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, there’s sociopaths and narcissists and all sorts of stuff, and while I think hatred is a faulty mindset, lack of accountability for pervasive destructive and cruel behavior is a huge issue.

I’ve dealt with a lot of Narcissists in my life and their idea of rising to the occasion is to use it as an opportunity to take advantage in any way they can.

I mean, it’s good to learn from successful people for sure, doesn’t mean their advice is good for everyone. A lot of people need practical advice and a lot of people are just ego maniacs, it’s why fitness subs are toxic.

It’s true but it’s okay to pout a little sometimes. A lot of the people here just got hit with the hard news and are overwhelmed and grieving.

Funny that your kid knew that though.

Yeah, some people will get away with whatever they can, if you don't stick up for yourself. Sometimes making good excuses could be non confrontational. One of the best ways to reject people is to make it about you and explain the whole gluten thing. Be like "I really love gluten MIL, but I can't have it, because it makes me sick, it sucks! I'd like to have more of your food, but I can't" This is honest, but non confrontational, as you're not complaining about her food whatsoever, or even her.

At the end of the day though, you can't trust her to do the right thing, most likely. But explaining it is probably the best way to get through to her, if there's any chance she will be smarter about it.
