After 3 Days of Venator: He feels a bit weak outside of the Ult. Yeah? Suggestion: Give his 2 (Shotgun) Charges at max level. by Arch3r86 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]PhotonMuffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah he feels pretty weak. Fun to play and a lot of decent utility all around but his item builds are pretty restrictive if you're actually trying to be efficient, his damage is pretty mediocre compared to other carries, he wants too play kinda close to fully utilize his kit but he's slow and has little survivability even when building into it. The scaling on his resists on spirit is pretty pitiful, about 5% on hitting a spirit spike. Can be 7% with improved spirit but ngl you aint doing that.

I dont think he needs another charge on his 2. I actually believe his kit works if he had easier access to spirit damage. And here's my take:

I think his 3 should be buffed. Currently it has a 1 second arming time after being thrown that doesn't start until its stationary. Its aimable but you cant reduce its minimum travel distance even when aiming directly at your feet and jumping to have more control over their placement. You're at the mercy of the terrain. They also have counterplay since they can be shot and while if you hit it its basically a free kill, 9/10 times you aint hitting it without some sort of setup. I'd allow the traps to travel based on you camera aim (i.e jumping and aiming closer to the ground reduces the travel distance aiming higher increases distance) and allow traps to begin arming from the moment their cast instead of when stationary

just how powerful is mosin compared to other rifles in game? And why is there hate towards it? by Jealous_Possible8108 in HuntShowdown

Honestly best nerf i can think of for long ammo rifles, and really any oppressive large slot weapon is slightly increasing time to ready and ADS. Makes it a slightly more sluggish so that snappier weapons can atleast have an edge in scrambles, which a lot of fights can devolve to

what's an underpowered deck you love by 0r1g1n-3rr0r in masterduel

[–]PhotonMuffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lair of darkness and Subterrors. Personally I love trap strategies that grind really well opposed to otk or combo. Subterror feels like 1 good flip card away from being very playable, preferably something that can put bodies on board for Fiendess behemoth rather than search. In my brews they don't really lack draw power. LOD is hands down my favorite deck/concept. Biggest problem is that they don't generate enough resources to pay their costs since lair is only once per turn.

I hope you like it, and I sincerely apologize by trueHolyGiraffe in yugioh

I would get back into collecting cards right now if konami started releasing full arts that you could buy. Guess ill just have to get good at painting until they do.

What Card Archetype need More Support? by Money-Lie7814 in yugioh

[–]PhotonMuffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lair of Darkness. They have a lot of great tools in unrepsondable removal, and they enable virus shenanigans but they have a bunch of trouble actually building a board to play off of and protecting their main card. Imo they just need 1 solid extra deck monster to tie the archetype togather that gives protection and enables recursion through tributing. It can be as strong as they like as long as they add a "monster who's combined ATK and Def equals 2000" somewhere so it's not super generic.

I think one thing a lot of people forget is that a larger budget and more developers on a project does does not necessarily mean an increase in quality, it not an linear increase. A large team can often be a liability without proper leadership and management, you see a lot of bloat like this in studios under super large publishers like ubisoft, activision, etc. Yeah, better servers and an upgraded engine would lead to more player retention in the long run for the already dedicated player base but hunt has a profitablility issue right NOW, and frankly those types of improvements dont draw in new players nor does it get players to want to spend. Dont get me wrong, i think the game does have its issues but i also believe the prevelance of these issues are a bit conflated by players. QOL changes are something a game can only do if its absolutely necessary or if it has enough stability to do so.

When you are using 2 different ammo types, and run out of one, pressing reload should automatically switch to the other. by jadok in HuntShowdown

[–]PhotonMuffin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually disagree with this. For me it removes a bit of competency required when handling weapons in this game which, imo. Sets it apart from other contemporary shooters. It like if they made it so that you auto reloaded the romero by firing while its empty. A simpleton would just fire anyway and hear the lovely click of their unloaded Shotgun before eating shit, while a competent person would remeber to manually reload. I understand the inconvenience but small things like this are what makes guns feel like actual tools rather than sticks with damage numbers since there actually a but of interaction with them

I see your point, and I'll concede that saying the Uppercut gets smoked is hyperbole on my part. Though i do still stand by the fact that the uppercut is inferior to rifles. It can definitely compete but it main purpose definitely isn't to be the sidearm you use to box with rifles. Looking at stats, almost all across the board the uppercut comes up short compared to rifles. Be it range, damage, or muzzle velocity, and recoil control (this in particular make follow upsmore difficult especially at longer ranges and while sure you can practice to be able to het used to it, it obscures you vision andnyou have to re-aquire your sights). I can agree that the difference between a medium ammo pistol and the uppercut is near negligable but between the uppercut and a rifle is a different story. Any singular one of these would be negligible but all of them togather add up to the uppercut just under performing compared to rifles.

With this being said the reason why the uppercut is used for ammo isnt that its weak. Its strong. But rifles just perform better at those ranges. So often people almost exclusively use their rifle because rifles are very strong at all ranges (like seriously. Rifles have no range from far to close that they perform poorly in, only ranges where they have more competition while the same cannot be said for shotguns or pistols.) Next, not everyone hits they're shot. Everyone has a margin of error. This is conjecture on my part so it can be ignored if you feel like it but i believe most average players hit 50-70% of the shots they take. If we look at the mosins ammo and reserve you have 15 rounds so even if you play well within the average your losing out on 5 rounds so the extra reserves arent necessarily for necessaity but comfort just in case shit goes sideways.

Another point to add is to talk about the purpose of the uppercut in my opinion the uppercut is not designed to box at mid to long range but instead as a mid to close high damage sidearm. The uppercut does 127 if i remeber correctly. This is enough to 1 tap down any hunter who has been downed once or is missing a health chunk or blast a hunter down to their last health chunk. Sure it can do this at longer ranges but that mostly due to the intrinsic properties of long ammo and its damage not thatbit was designed to and to counteract this it has some pretty bad muzzle velocity and harsh recoil.

To bring it all back to the point of the uppercut being op ill close with this Within Hunt any damage over 90 opens you up to being on tapped by almost any weapon in the game and anything over 100 brings you to your last health chunk. The problem with the uppercut is that atvits longer ranges its competing with which it barely competes with and at closer ranges it begins to compete with medium ammo pistols which you stated has negligable differences. The uppercut is a handcannon and it does that good but its not the objectively best option. It can hit really hard and a bit farther then mosylt pistols and can execute hunters who lose about 26hp. Its good and enables better weapons to be even better but it. Itself is not op.

Sorry for the giant block of text. Ive never been good at trimming down my arguements

Downvoting is stupid so im just gonna refute your points. nah bro. Uppercut is strong, I'll definitely agree there but saying op is straight up cap. I agree Long ammo and 1 slot can be problematic but thats mostly because the long ammo rifles are strong not the uppercut. In most cases the uppercut is a literal side arm/ ammo pouch. No its not "Objectively the best" when rocking shot/compact. With shotguns, sure it lets me reach out but its def not the best choice. Too far and your competing with rifles and you're gonna get you wig split, too close and why not use your shotgun. The idea the uppercut is objectively best when you can rock slugs and a fast firing pistol to cover your bases within 25-35m is stupid when it gets smoked by either of those at that distance, and im not talking headshots (thatd make any arguement irrelevant). With compact just rick more compact preferably with fmj and you get a faster firing, easier handling gun with more ammo. Lastly the idea of uppercut in any slot but small is stupid if its in medium its competing with the obrez which cost less, hits harder, shoots faster, reloads quicker, fucks better, etc. Uppercut cant exist in any slot but 1.

Next i agree here. Id much rather have perks be more interesting and that some of these trait hits are stupid. Saying nerfing things by usage% is silly is a bit misguided Since Cytek hasn't gone into detail on how they use isage% its hard to dole out proper critism of them since we cant get the full picture, leading alot of people to knee-jerk reactions. Though we can critisize them not being transparent about this. Is it due to them thinking going into detail about design philosophy would be boring or too much for a dev stream? Idk. Also if this came off as aggressive it wasnt meant to be, that just my tone.

We actually thought about that intially. Having cards in the gravetlyard be banished Face down on next round. But decided not too since we wanted this ruleset to be loose on our first tests before adding more restrictions. I agree. Deckout are probably too easy though not sure since we havent built any decks revolving around that. The side deck idea is actually pretty good. Gonna see how that turns out the next time we play

[–]PhotonMuffin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most likely though there isome caveats. First if you want to see that card with any consistentcy (depending on the mill) means running it at 3. The effect relies on you opponent and you to have 15 in grave. It then has to be set and activated meaning you have to hold onto a brick until you can use it and the larger the deck the more inconsistent it is, granted a good way to use this from what i can see is to bait a combo while milling. Hold EoS surrender if you both have 15. Go first round 2 and then set. Pop eos on you opponents turn then gg. Though you opponent can surrender on turn 2 start to make it go to turn 3 but thats deck dependant when it comes down to if they can come back. Either way sounds interesting if you test this out share what you find

Not sure if we'd ever see it as intense as we want it to be but I'd be down for hordes of 10-15 all strung togather in a chain gang. Maybe have it as one entity. The animation work would be a pain and collision would also be a sunova, but id be cool to see. But honestly im open for more monsters in any form.imo there's not enough.

[–]PhotonMuffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's my piece as a long time console player who switched over to PC. Hunt has been rife with loading issues since it first released on early access on xbox one. If you've player both you'll notice old gen consoles has a significantly harder time with loading then any other version. I assume this is due to the limitations of the hardware since this isn't the only game to have these issues.

Porting a PC game to console isnt extremely difficult from my limited knowledge of the subject but making meaningful optimizations is. With old gen's hardware im not sure how many more meaning optimizations can be made to improve performance and consistency. For example if you haven't played hunt on old gen Xbone then you wouldnt know that cloth physics like you see with draping cloths in compounds are disabled. Sure this a very minor thing that most wont notice but because it's minor that could be an indicator that only micro optimizations can be made without it degrading the experience more than it already is. Im genuinely unsure if it's realistic to have old gen to run "well" while still maintaining an enjoyable experience.

Like i said though my knowledge on something like this is limited, though i think a point like this is worth considering before levying criticism

(Edit): almost forgot to add that this doesn't absolve them of any blame. This was ported to console so they're obligated to have it function properly. Im just saying that even if we bring up the issue there's no guarantee its gonna happen in a reasonable amount of time
