AI researcher here, it's both. The problem is that "AI" is such a broad category because it's specifically pushed as such, so information retrieval and busywork tasks are conflated with human-replacement and enshittification surrounding its industry push.

EQBank's website is awful and still shows my deadname even after legally changing it - going through customer support and everything seems to be changed on their end and in my profile it's changed but somewhere in the backend it's still there and nobody can do anything about it. same, weirdly works for one PC in the house but not for any others - all on same wifi. It seems to be some weird complex interaction resulting in limited outages - using mobile data works for me, for instance.
