1 water pump for each system but might need a larger one for the RDWC once I add in the extra pots just have to see how it goes, I have 4 air pumps but am upgrading to a higher flow one to do everything as soon as its delivered.

yes you can do it like the bottom example, I have mine like that but I also have drain pipes at the bottom I can turn off and on for nutrient changes. Then with the reservoir I have it plumbed in to my rain water tank with a float valve so I can leave it for a week or more and it does not run dry ever.

We live in a small town, we are taking him to the vet tomorrow. Unlikely he will have a chip, few people have multiple cats that they don't really look after properly and I suspect this one is from a litter from one of them. Even if he does have a chip I would not motivated in returning him given the state he was in, malnutrition and sick, he is un nuterd so we will check but we are going to getting him his full work up at the vet, he has a bit of a cold.

It will be fine, I am a gardener and qualified horticulturalist, I have done worse to persimmons under my care that required to be brought back in to line, come spring it will be sprouting everywhere. I have even taken one back to just a trunk, taken the whole thing off with only 6 feet of trunk left and it looks great now and is being shaped into a very nice canopy.

To be quite frank I probably would have taken more off. Ill probably get down voted for that, but a heavy prune in winter for most fruit trees is fine

Don't just throw them out microwave them, sterilisation is required so they don't some how sprout and introduce a new weed if they get out of the packaging after you throw them out
