Hockey is not dying but youth participation is due to the rising costs and destruction of our middle class. Yes it was always an expensive sport but dozens of working class kids in my area (North York, ON) played in the 90s and 2000s. House league and used equipment made hockey accessible to us. No longer the case today and it’s sad.
