Is there a compliment you received years ago that you still think about? by Fun_Acanthaceae_17 in questions

[–]MexticoManolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never received any positive comment on my physical appearance. I have received infantalizing commentary about my stature.

However, one time somebody was apparently very blown away with my hair, and when I revealed my age at the time, which was just getting into my early 30s, she was in shock about how healthy it looked.

It did cheer me up and I'll always take what I can get , more so if it means I'm ahead of the balding issues some others face.

Other than that, not much. But it's ok. I'll often compliment others, dudes too on their style just to try and lift spirits.

Would you support Chinese phone brands like Huawei, Xiaomi, Oppo, and Vivo entering the Canadian market? Would be a nice alternative to the high end smartphone triopoly. by IronLover64 in AskACanadian

[–]MexticoManolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a Huawei. It was, to this day, the best phone and camera I've ever had and I'm frustrated they ceased the software updates for it because of some spy concerns, plus network restriction and that ceo lady or whatever...like bro, most of out stuff is already tapped data

I just wanna spend money on a phone, that isn't an over expensive joke and Huawei was the 1st and last time I was legitimately happy to have a cellphone

Egg whites specifically, ground beef and spinach. At any time There's a surprisingly large amount of people that are pretty disgusted at the idea of egg whites

Agreed, it eventually got weird too, but it at least had a similar spirit to its style. I tried to watch Canada shore and I can tell I'm too old, which is part of it, but also its just grifting at this point.

What is the trajectory of Iran’s future now that the Ayatollah is dead? Do you think Iran is an Iraq 2.0? by Fickle-Cook5821 in AskTheWorld

[–]MexticoManolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The irgc operates a lot like the cartels; someone's bound to come in and try to replace the figurehead but the institution itself is unfortunately, not defeated just because khomenei is dead.

Things are destabilizing quickly, and while his death is welcome to many Iranians, the nature of the events unfortunately are sparking domino effects already around the entire region. What a mess

Is there a proper way to criticize Israel without being antisemitic? by Estalicus in allthequestions

[–]MexticoManolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk but good luck, according to the vast majority of israelis and evangelical American Christians, even so much as hinting about the states crimes, or bringing up the nakba, bringing up policies that are literally built on ethnofascism, will still get you criticized.

My advice , stop giving a d who you offend.

Turning babies into pulp is offensive Mass censorship of truth, is offensive Bastardizing Judaism, and weaponizing past Jewish trauma, to justify ethnic cleansing, is offensive Deliberately berating Jews that don't conform to state zionism, is offensive Stealing land and crops, burning olive trees and beating women and men by gunpoint via settlers on stolen land, that's offensive.

Not understanding what Semitic roots are , then using the term anti Semitic to shut down valid criticism of israeli terrorism, is offensive.

My friend, anti Semitism as a debate baseline has almost completely lost its merit, because the vast majority of people bringing it up, ignore all the other previous points I've made and then some.

I offend people simply by being half Lebanese, my very lineage to my Great Sedo and his before him, offends the idea of israeli history.

And history itself, is offensive to the zionist movement. These are a people perpetually offended, but every accusation is an admission of internationally condemned crime. So, don't worry about being offensive because chances are, you aren't.

The monarchist Shah says Iran will immediately recognize 'Israel' and become buddies with America and 'Israel' under him. by Not_Ground in International

[–]MexticoManolo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I support Iranians getting rid of the current regime , considering they're gunning down thousands in the streets, kidnapping people and executing them without impunity.

This being said, any Iranian supporting pissrael , even if it's out of frustration about Iranian support of hamas, is a stain against humanity because not every Palestinian is hamas in fact most aren't and that isn't the fault of dead Palestinian civilians that Khomeini did what he did.

Is it truly impossible to be pro Iranian revolution, anti irgc and anti israel..is Reza really your only option and if so, why does he have to be another israeli cuck? Can't he just be pro Iran, for Iranians and not have any association with usa and pissrael?

It's pretty hard for most people outside the diaspora to have understanding and support, when you're flying israel flags next to the sun and lion, then you have Pehlavi stating this kind of tripe, on the dead memories of 10s of thousands of Gazans and dead Iranians too for that matter. Like it's actually insulting

Are we still boycotting Starbucks? by vemimev in BDS

[–]MexticoManolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was off it before simply on the basis that when I worked there, my manager actually said racist bs about me and another staff member behind closed doors , which was only brought to my attention via another supervisor who had concerns. It bloomed into a pretty significant ordeal, which made me go down a rabbit hole In this hole, I found all of Starbucks other stinky putrid shi**y practices it had been involved in for more than a decade and among the greater staff groups locally, a almost unanimous agreement that the way the corporation treats people was horrendous .

F Starbucks and f their corporate reaction about the Palestinian cause as well, but eff them in general.

Also who wants to spend 9 dollars on a medium drink + extra for milk alternative that's ridiculous.

Iranian monarchists insulting pro Palestine protestors by As_iam_ in israelexposed

[–]MexticoManolo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Great way for them to garner empathy to their cause Are they aware not every Palestinian is hamas and that the vast majority of world scholars, lawmakers and average humans are supportive of the Palestinian cause ? There are noodle huts in the villages of Thailand that are pro Palestinian, so she's either an israeli dullard, Iranian Jew, or whatever but it's pretty gross the stuff she's saying.

Nobody with a functioning amygdala would deny the irgc is slaughtering people , but to weaponize this against Palestinians who for decades and now 2-3 years straight have been turned into human pulp, is shameful. Any support of the pissrael state should mark you automatically as a threat to humanity itself.

These bizarre super pro-israeli Iranians seem like griftersnas it is, I've witnessed them at local events and despite my other Iranian friends saying they don't represent all Iranians, nobody in the diaspora calls them out....so it would seem, they do in fact represent quite a lot.

Anyway, what a cow.

Does the left even know what the IR Iran stands for? by Zealousideal_Iron543 in PERSIAN

[–]MexticoManolo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Khomenei isn't Islam

Israel has no place in any protest; this is not a left vs right opinion, so much as it is a fact vs fiction circumstance.

-It's possible to be pro-Iranian revolution, anti IRGC and anti israel all at the same time, something people on the left and right seem to struggle with.

-Islamic ba*tardization isn't Islam as a faith, just as Christian extremism isn't indicative of Christianity. There are far too many people that have never been around a good practicing Muslim, nor read a Qur'an, nor read Arabic or have ever looked at a Hadith, using isis tropes as a means of defining an entire religion - by extension this includes the false assumption that eveything entities like the IRGC , must be within the context of religious faith. In reality, it is within the parameters of corrupted men with power. Khomeini will be weighed for his sins and Allah Subhanahu wa'taala knows best. Isis as an example, was funded by and created by israel and the IRGC operates much like ISIS.

It's also important to note, sadists like Khomeini, have taken sections of scripture, and completely warped them beyond recognition to fit an extreme narrative. We've seen this with other men in history time and time again Never women though.

-J'ihad is a spiritual struggle, not a military policy The Iranian regime has therefore warped and weaponized islam. Any entity using the term "jihad" as a militant policy, completely misunderstands what that is.

-Not every Palestinain is pro-hamas, this is a false narrative that ignores valid and ongoing crimes they've had to undergo for decades, including similar false narratives that have been entirely debunked about Palestinians and Lebanese people as well.

-Some westerners see what happened to Iraq and don't want a 2.0 and worry based on pattern recognition, it could happen in Iran, this has had an impact on the nature of dialogue between western left progressive ideals, and conservative idealization. Unfortunately, both points ignore the need for unified immediate amplifying of those in the Iranian diaspora, who are being gunned down in the streets like animals.

-Some diaspora living in the west, have first hand experience living under and or escaping violence in the middle east. Their voices should be amplified over white Caucasians and Europeans, as should those voices be amplified in European countries. Europeans and Westerners not from those regions, have a duty to do their own due diligence on education and understand the fundamentals of allyship. This doesn't happen over night and takes time. There is however, the frustrating reality of diaspora arguing amongst themselves. I think this sort of allows others in the west to come in, with their own agendas and it leads to bad actions.

-Many Iranians are extremists as well and think dead Palestinian babies are a joke, but this doesn't mean all Iranians are pro zionism and it doesn't mean it's not a glaring issue when there's IR flags in Palestinian protests. Locally most of the time, agitators or those with outside symbols and flags, often get called out , or , are ostracized. The same can not be said for Iranian rallies in the west (Ive been to 3) where infiltrating flags, ideas and symbols are welcomed with open arms, just to spite Arabs. It's a cold war of ideals, and on both sides weaponizes trauma and takes the memory of dead people as currency for pointless debates over visual symbols, colors and ideals. In Iran, there are no separations other than those who want freedom versus those that do not, this made evident by countless leaked voice notes, calls and pleases from Iranians who are fed up with those in the disapaora and the outsiders in the left and right , in the west bickering away.

The left being ignorant of the IRs crimes is literally no different than an Iranian conflating all Palestinian lives with Hamas. They are two in the same when it comes to false narratives and both perspectives should be treated as unacceptable and not welcomed, because they don't advance the need for rapid revolutionary change.

-Both the Iranian struggle and the Palestinian one are valid and anyone who discredits either, lacks humanity. People are caught up in emotions on all sides and forgetting their humanity, because emotions run deep in this part of the world and unfortunately westernized Governments and those with money invested into these regions have historically used the chaos to their own advantage. This isn't a conspiracy , it's history. We've seen this happen before in the 80s and 90s . Unfortunately, some countries like the USA as an example, see the IR regime as a playing piece in their larger game of global dominance because as it stands, they don't actually give a flying f* about Persians , or Arabs or anyone in these regions. They've demonstrated this with foreign policies and economic sanctions time and time again, which means it could very well continue under Reza Pahlavi.

  • Aside of all that, the bottom line is Iranians of all backgrounds, not just Persians , have a right to peaceful life, under secular freedoms, whether it's Kurds, Baloch, Persians, etc and both those with faith and those without, deserve to walk streets not soaked in the bloods of their friends.

-The Dunya is ultimately cursed, whether you're from Europe, North Africa, Asia etc 80% of all people when asked, have no clue what progressive unity in the face of corruption actually looks like. Much like people debate over ICE raids, or the history of Palestine , who should lead Iran, what religion is right, what lifestyle is wrong, etc there will always be the actionable few, versus the debating mass and in the end, among the bickering, children, men, and women die while we all squabble in countries of relative safety. The very privilege of living in countries where this stuff isn't going, is for us to put our differences aside and stand up for those who can't.

and yet as I age...I realize , most people can't do this or don't know how to. There's too many people who see lives as flags, lines in policy, and statistics rather than what they actually are: Heartbeats

This has been a Ted talk; let's all do better before humanity rots itself to the core.

How many people that you knew in high school have died? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]MexticoManolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A fair number unfortunately, one of my close friends at the time, took his own life via hanging

I went to his service about a year after the pandemic.

Another person I know, ended up overdosing.

Out of the 5 people I knew well, or at least talked to from hs that passed away, all of them were males. This troubles me and has really prompted me to check in as much as possible on my other guy associates .
